Nice post Mutant1988!

Here's a game I regret missing the first time around... Would it be blasphemy to ask for an HD-remake with online co-op?

smurphster, I would very much like one of those myself. Either that or Timesplitters 4.

It's high time for Timesplitters to make a return.

The developers and rights is with Crytek UK now, from what I understand, so if you want Timesplitters, that's who you should turn to.

Another great thing about this game was the map-maker. I played tons of 'virus' (I think that's what it was called) against bots with my buddies and we made plenty of maps to slay viral monkies in. I loved the humor and cartoony graphics from this one but even if crytek wanted to go more serious with a new installment, the multi-time-period aspect of these games was always gold in my opinion. What other game gets to combine 30's gangsters, sci-fi lasers/aliens, and current day weaponry? I think it'd be sweet if they used current technology to let us have a large scale fight (like defending a castle) with modern weapons. Anyways, you got me ranting now haha.. good post.

I've spent a ridiculous amount of time with the mapmaker feature of both Timesplitters 2 and Timesplitters Future Perfect. Of all the great things this game offer, this might just be what has the greatest appeal to me personally, closely followed by the co-op. I will probably get into the mapmaker at some point, though not in this blog series. With "Remembering co-op" I want to reminisce and share my experiences with co-op games I've played.

Coming up, I believe, would be Timesplitters Future Perfect. Though I will include my experience with the original Timesplitters as well. After that, I'll probably cover Halo and Halo 2. Sadly, I didn't play the third game all the way through with original co-op buddy, nor any of those that were released after (Wars, ODST, Reach, Anniversary). But I'll probably try to cover the rest of the Halo games under a different blog title.

Also, I'd like to get a hold of my old co-op friend and replay TS2 with him and record it. But since he lives in a different town these days, it's a bit difficult.

I still hold Future Perfect as one of my high points on the 360. It was SO much fun unlocking all the skins and then building levels. It was one of the few my wife could hang with. I'd craft many meticulous levels during the week, and we'd play them on the weekends. I'd LOVE an HD remake of Future Perfect, or (dare I dream it?) a sequel!
