Does anyone even play this game anymore?

Most people have dropped it due to the glitchers, a-holes, and boosters for CoD4 or Halo 3.

I still have it, but have not played MP in a looooong time.

I think it's still in the top 5 XBL games.. so yes, people still do play it. I do occasionally, but only if a few of my friends do.

This was a great game to play co op online and a few people still play it but it is over a year old and many new games have come out and like KosherInfidel said everyone right now are playing Halo 3 COD4 and the new Burnout game. But if you have not played it and can get it for a good price then pick it up, its worth it.

I just got GoW for Christmas and beat it about two weeks ago. I ONLY played 2-player co-op with my brother and it was one of the best video gaming experiences I've ever had. I doubt I'll ever go through and beat it by myself, co-op was just that awesome.

I agree. The game was fantastic on co-op, and a great benchmark for other games to come. The upcoming "Faith and a .45" will have a lot in common with Gears.

I know also that an upcoming magazine is supposed to have content and info about Gears 2. See my blog link below for more info. Can't wait.

Only issue I had with the game was with the split screen co-op. Using a horizontal split made it much more difficult to throw grenades.

Yah, I know that's a petty issue...but it annoyed us enough times to sort of leave a bad taste in our mouths.

Would be nice to have the option to pick either horiz. or vertical.... especially on widescreen monitors.

I understand why they chose to go with the vertical split considering there really isn't a lot of "vertical" enemies in the game, so a wider field of view is beneficial. I'm just used to playing a horizontal split on a widescreen...when you sit on a couch and have your own "side", it's much more natural, to me...

I was hoping to hear some more about GEARS 2 at DICE, but so far nothing. It's cool that Kudo Tsunoda is now onboard and working on GEARS content... which likely means #2 in the series.

For those who don't know him, he was the director for Fight Night: Round 3.... another outstanding game. And I don't even like boxing.

Did y'all know the guy who does the voice of Marcus on GoW does the voice of Bender on Futurama? Pretty cool!

He also voiced Wakka in Final Fantasy X

yeah, I had heard that some time ago. Very cool. The voice work was excellent on the game. Really loved the banter and dialogue in the game.

I just picked this up a few days ago. I know I'm a bit late to the game but I'm really enjoy it a lot, the pure satisfaction that comes with the chainsaw bayonet and perfect reloads. I just recently finished the casual co op with a buddy of mine and we're half way through it again on insane mode. Just thought I'd put in my two cents.

Can anybody confirm that Achievments and Windows LIVE are available on the PC version of this title?

Yup - they are. And you can get them on both platforms.

That is, you could earn a total of 2000 achievement points on this title.

I'm still looking to get all the Dom achievements myself as well as pick up a couple more COG tags. Gears is one of the better co-op games on the 360.
