The (real) trailer is in, and it doesn't have any surprises. Sure enough, you're playing an ODST in a GRAW-esque tactical/recon/shooter game. At the two-minute mark, there's a first-person camera shot; the new hero scans a Brute pack through his binoculars, and his HUD puts a red outline around each one. Those outlines looked familiar somehow...

Derivative though it may be, I'm still looking forward to this game. I know I'm overanalyzing this, but didn't the ODST's gun (it looks like a bloated MP5 with a suppressor) seem awfully small for fighting 9-foot space monkeys that can survive getting shot in the face? Surely they made the Brutes a little bit flimsier than they were in the main games.

The new hero is alone in the trailer, but let's hope Bungie is clever enough to know they're ripping off a game with a VERY popular co-op campaign. Hey, given Halo's reputation for putting polish on other games' innovations, maybe it'll have a more user friendly interface.

Fall 2009. I thought it was supposed to be this January. :cry:

I beat you by a few seconds, but good eye. I'm excited for this...Halo could use a bit more nitty-gritty, and I'm crossing my fingers for third-person perspective and four-player co-op...

To me, his weapon looked like a take on the SMG used in Halos 2 & 3. I also got an Eagle Eye vibe from the city AI giving him help via marquees. Wonder if there will be a cover system now that we'll play as a normal soldier vs. a Spartan.

When I heard about this game the first thought that came to my head was Star Wars: Republic Commando meets Halo, but I think the tie between GRAW and Halo is more apt. Still I am expecting this game to be more tactical than the straight up run 'n gun that the HALO series is known for. Only time will tell...

Yeah, I heard that the ODST will have just a health bar, (maybe it recharges after taking damage?) But he can't take on Brutes by himself, so they may use some stealth too.

Too bad I won't buy this game if Halo 3 is required to play it. Because Bungie or Moneysoft decided back in August I did bad and I'm not "restricted from user-generated content" even maps I created myself ans videos of my CAMPAIGN!

I didn't do anything wrong and with MS's support I feel like violently hurting them (when I think about it that is)

:mrgreen: No shields, stronger brutes and they move just as fast. I need a weapon. So how is a 4 player coop going to work with the story line that Game Informer so far put out?
