When they say 4-player co-op, do they mean 4-player local OFFLINE co-op or ONLINE? Or both? :D

Four player co-op will rock this one. I'd love to have multiple guys on one vehicle a la old school GI Joe! :D

Hmmm...you mean the show or the action figures? Cause I just had the big-ol, round Cobra
HQ vehicle.

Crackdown with more players is definitely a plus. And with that saying along the lines of "There's no where for them to hide...(sewer lid starts rumbling)... for you"!

I like that and I hope that means we will actually have some challenges and as Baldy has been hoping less Omni-aware enemies.

I truly want this game. I just don't want them to lose focus from the first one. There was something special about crackdown. And no, it wasn't the Halo beta.

lol... after playing the crackdown demo i thought it was a lot of fun but since there's no splitscreen, i wasn't going to get it. then i heard about the halo 3 beta and i got that itch and couldn't resist anymore. i'm sure glad i gave in because crackdown is a great game and i enjoy participating in betas too.

the first one was online only. doesn't even do system link i believe. i'd guess the same for 2.

that was one complaint i always had too. i wanted to play split screen w/ my wife but can't. i'm guessing they left it out since you really need the whole screen when you're jumping from building to building. plus the huge draw distances would be hell in split screen.

More and more games are abandoning offline co-op, and you can add me as another one that REALLY wanted it in the first Crackdown. I still played and enjoyed the hell out of it.

Sometimes I wonder if it isn't a ploy by developers in order to sell more copies.

I think it has system link.

i believe the reason they abandon offline co-op is because there is xbox live which makes easier to do co-op, where 20% of the buyers do want the offline co-op, the other 80% would rather sacrfice offline co-op for more content.

No matter what, offline support is WAY better (if properly created) than online. Only because you are sure to play offline mode in the future even after the servers for the game's online support dry up.

I have 2 xbox360s and usually rent my self a game when I want to play coop with my wife and I only want to play offline and am not willing to pay for two Gold-memerships extra to play an offline game!!!

Really? I've never played System Link on the 360. That's stupid. My only guess, is that the internet software on the 360 is directly linked to membership and if it detects a connection outside of the Xbox Live marketplace, it requires Gold Membership.

I would send a nasty (or constructive, if you prefer) to Support and inform them of this (in my opinion) mistake.

Would be cool to see offline coop support for this but I really doubt it will have it.

yeah that is incredibly lame... have you tried disconnecting them from the net entirely? try just a crossover cable or a switch that isn't connected to the net. then neither are connected to XBL. if its TRUE system link, you shouldn't need XBL. however, if you're logged into XBL and she isn't, it might cause problems. it shouldn't, but this is M$ we're talking about here.

that really bothers me. i've been thinking about picking up a 2nd xbox for my wife since they're getting cheaper and some recent implementations of split screen, shared screen, or lack of local co-op frankly suck (i'm looking at you CoD W@W, fable 2, sacred 2, crackdown). she has a gold account but still, it sounds like system link is becoming a poorly implemented monster as well.

That...is absurd. I can only assume that's a glitch. How are people using crossover cable's supposed to manage that?

I doubt it will feature split-screen. Creating sandbox games featuring online co-op is already a challenge... imagine the difficult to do it in split-screen (it would require too much of the processor).
