Post Modern Warfare 2
Recently I was shifting through the fourms and I noticed there wasn't a topic on this,so i thought i'd make one

I'm really excited for this game, the multiplayer trailers Infinity Ward has been getting better and better, although they really seem to be moving away from realism, but it will be fun neverless.

Also I really hope the co-op part will be as good as single player, since they are making entire new missions for co-op. I think a mission like "All ghillied up" would be great fun with co-op

What does everyone else think about Mw2?

i havent made up my mind if im going to buy it or not, this is one of those games that if you dont start playing it as soon as it comes out your going to be hopelessly overwhelmed by people with more experience and perks than you. im not much into games that force you to play them, and if you dont play them on a regular basis your going to be left behind.

i am going to buy LostPlanet2 and probably the new Graw game next year, that is if Graw stays 3rd person instead of going back to its 1st person roots which imo would be a huge mistake for a tactical shooter.

IW should just make these games as ridiculous as possible, like a first person 80's side scroller. It's cute listening to the children on Live who think they're soldiers when playing CoD.

I hated Modern Warfare, and I'm frustrated it's getting a sequel. The AC-130 gunship mission was fun (this should have been the entire game), but the regenerating health, respawning enemies, and moronic squadmates ruined the game. Criterion's Black is the superior arcade FPS...it should have gotten a sequel with online co-op.

The only redeeming point is reading about all the morons who're dropping $100 on a shoddy pair of first gen night goggles. I can't wait for these idiots to start making Youtube videos!

********* GR 2 and GRAW were awful compared to the original Ghost Recon and its expansions. 3rd person kills the immersion.

We don't really need those type of comments here. Attacking, insulting and name calling can be left at the door before you come in.

All I asked was "wtf are you smoking"...is that really considered an attack, insult, or name calling??

If so, I apologize. I meant is as an interjection of surprise, not an insult. I really find it hard to believe someone could prefer 3rd person to 1st for a tactical shooter.

i suppose i burned myself out on 1st person shooters back in the day when i played them exclusivly on pc, the quake series unreal tournament, rainbow 6, Halo and other 1st person shooters force you to play the game the same way over and over. strafe back and fourth and shoot people when they emerge from around corners..rinse and repeate..

3rd person shooters your not confined to tunnel vision and (imo) you have a better sense of your surroundings, and cover tends to be alot more important. imo the only game thats done a 1st person shooter right is Rainbow6Vegas2 where you play in 1st person but you take cover in 3rd.

really not trying to start a argument over which is better, i personaly like 3rd person shooters over 1st. thats all..

Yeah, I wasn't trying to start an argument either. I apologize if I seemed antagonistic...I'd yet to meet anyone who played the original GR that preferred GRAW. Thanks for sharing your point of view.

I just picked up RSV2 the other day. I haven't played any Rainbow Six games since the original Xbox, so I'm looking forward to checking it out. :)

How is the co-op? Do enemies still spawn in the same locations?

rainbow6vegas2? ya the enemies spawn in the same position but their are a set # of enemies so no re-spawning until you cross a invisible line.

vegas2 imo had fantastic co-op, never played the 1st vagas game though so couldnt tell you if its better or worse.

I visit so many forums a day, and all I see is swearing, bickering, name calling attacking and the like. This forum since it's inception has been free of all that, so it's my intent to keep it that way.

Nothing against you personally, we want to keep things here as civil and mature as possible. This is THE BEST forum for gaming I have ever been on.

So, what's everybody's feeling on MW2 as we near its release date? After going through all the related news, it's hard not to be turned off by what they've done to the game.

I watched a video where the player had, what I'm guessing is, a perk that allowed them to play gunner on the helicopter somebody had called in. I couldn't stand the original helicopter that glided around aimbotting everybody on the opposing team. Now, you're allowed to play as that aimbot as they paint every single player on the opposite team for you. The player in the video didn't stop firing the entire time.

The co-op is split-screen right? I think it might be worth a rent.

i've been going back and forth quite a bit. right now i'm really turned off especially after reading this...
http://blogs.ign.com/Jess-IGN/2009/11/02/131635/
that's just distasteful

i think i'm going to pass. i really haven't had any time for single player games and the limited split screen isn't enough to sway me after all the bad press.

Nope... a no buy for me. The latest with the co-op issues killed it for me. Borderlands! Borderlands! I'd rather give my money to and support a company that makes and supports what I want and like. Thanks Gearbox!!

I think I'll eventually pick it up, but it's definitely not on my holiday spending radar. Too many other games more worthy of my attention (and dollars).

I just cannot see myself getting this, even for Christmas.

Stale multiplayer with no big change, no co-op campaign, no dedicated servers, no ability to mod, and now to top it all off thanks to the General Gaming section, no party chat in certain playlists.

If I still cared about competitive multiplayer, I'd be all on board. But. . . Those things are just so HUGE. It's like they made a decent game, and then thought, "So how can we destroy this for more casual gamers, or those that want to play with friends? . . . I know!" And then did that stuff.

The party chat really did it for me. :( Before that, maybe for Christmas. . . But not anymore.

I call "pass" on this one.

For both PC and Console versions it seems like they are gimping the product.

Since everybody else is passing, I'll take the bullet here and keep my preorder. I'll give you guys all the dirt and let you know whether or not they've truly turned this game into trash.

I'm keeping my pre-order as well. There's a 360 co-op night scheduled for it.
