This could be the most fun I have ever had in a co-op environment.
Online multi-player really doesn't cut it for me here. It's all about having four or more friends (we swap instruments/players between songs) over the house and really allowing ourselves to get into the game.

If someone fails their section, a more successful player can expend some of his/her stored energy (usually used for a bonus multiplier) to revive him.

Lots of fun! :)

I'd agree with that. This must be one of the newest and most enjoyable co-op experiences out there.

I also agree, the co-op experience is great. We usually can't wait to see what the new songs will be for the week.

This game has not left the disc tray since I bought it a month ago. Holy crap is it fun. And it's a great party game.

Rock Band is really the closest I think I will get to playing a real instrument. I mean I have always loved drums, but seeing how they are big and expensive I would never get to have a real set. Love having the ability to fufil my thirst for music, and be able to do it with my friends!

everyone i know loves to play this game.
we are always playing it.. I'm finally getting good at the drums.. working on playing expert but I can beat hard solo career.
Another thing that makes it great is that every week they are making new downloads which is exciting for me.

It's really fun.. but..

Meh.. I think they really need to fix the whole "Disconnect and then lose the song" thing online, though. I can't count the number of times I've been halfway through a song and then someone leaves and the remaining 3 bandmates have to deal with failing the song.

Rock Band is an awesome game. Can't say we do much singing but we always have two guitars playing and the drums. Great for get togethers.

I've been really digging Rock Band. I've added it to my arsenal of games to bust out when the non-gaming friends come over. It's simple enough that even non gamers can figure it out and get by on easy. Singing is one of the funnest parts of it. Sure the drums and guitars are super fun, but I can get the people that are intimidated by the buttons on the guitars to sing.

Now I just need a hidden camera and mic to record these performances. Blackmail videos would be fun stuff... thats how we got Grandpa to quit drinking :| ...I joke... kinda

one of the best games to come out in 2007. friends and relatives come over my house at least once a week to play it. our version of Rock Band is that whoever has the lowest percentage at the end of a song has to do a shot. it gets even more interesting after a bit.

Just picked this up myself. The wife has joined the band along with my son. She is doing vocals, I am doing drums, and my 8 year old son is doing guitar.

The fun is just amazing. And I love the songs, much more so than GHIII. The equipment, for the price, seems VERY acceptable. I love that they put in real drum sticks as well.

Hopefully online is just as fun, and I haven't tried that yet. The wife was also hoping for some country songs :P I told her it's called ROCKBAND, not COUNTRYBAND!

That sounds like a blast!! How easy is the lowest difficulty? I get the feeling my wife wouldn't do so well on guitar, and she hates singing so she wouldn't like the vocals. Since I have several guitars I'd really want to play drums though it may not be much like "real" drums.

We are playing on EASY. So far I have found drums to be more difficult than guitar. I have also found that the guitar, on easy, is easier than the guitar on GHIII...so far at least.

My wife doesn't do karaoke or anything like that. She will sing songs on the radio as she is cleaning the house though. She is singing on EASY, and she has never dropped below 91%, her highest is 98%.

I need lots of practice on the drums, that is for sure. Repetition is surely key here.

I have never played drums before, but you do have to keep the same drum beat that matches the music, including symbols and foot pedal. Seems more realistic than the guitar in fact.

Just a heads up that tomorrow has the Portal song "Still Alive" releasing in the Rock Band store for free.
