Post Re: Ghostbusters
I have waited for this game since the N64. FINALLY! Any word on how Co-op will be implemented? I know it won't be during the story-mode.

I only heard that it would be players competing to catch the most ghosts. Personally, I always thought having a team of ghostbusters versus a team of ghosts would be cool

You know player versus player. But I haven't heard much so I don't know what Co-op means in the final product.

Bad news......http://www.gamespot.com/news/6195113.ht ... ws;title;1

I can't believe they put this game on hold, or might be thinkig of selling it off. There is a small chance I guess that they will keep it, But even if it gets passed along to someone else I figured it would still be out soon considering how far along the game already is.
(Unless, whoever buys it may decide to re-do the whole thing....)

Sucks either way htough. :| :|

I should have it by then too. I'm totally up for some busting. Especially if I get to be Egon :D

On a side note, does anyone else think that the medic from Team Fortress 2 looks like Egon?

I'm debating on suggesting this or Infamous for Father's Day, still up in the air. Was hoping to see some people's reactions to Ghostbusters before committing to it.

I've never noticed that, but it is seriously a creepy resemblance.

Post Re: Ghostbusters
while reading about the different job types (read multiplayer modes), I realized something that really irks me.

Containment: Capture as many ghosts as possible in a time limit.

Unless the time limit can be set to infinite, this is the dumbest thing besides no co-op in single-player. Containment is exactly what every ghostbuster kid wanted to do. So you slap on a time limit to prevent players from staying in that mode?

I would love to go to a map and have to find (PKE meter anyone?) ghosts on Hard or even Normal difficulty. Without having to run around like a jack rabbit searching for ghosts, it would strengthen co-op by promoting players stick to each other or partner up and split.
Just imagine that..gosh I hope this mode's time limit can be turned off or set to infinite.

That's a tough choice. Ghostbusters is a lot of fun but Infamous is hands-down awesome.

I played Ghostbusters for almost 5 straight hours yesterday! That's insane for me. Final verdict is something I can't remember saying before: the single player mode is better than co-op. :|

They've TOTALLY captured the feeling of the movies. I disagree with the Joystiq review and say the voice acting is excellent! Sure there are times when the game repeats the same snippets at odd times, but really the lines are amazingly accurate. Throwing out traps and bustin' ghosts is great. I think it could wear though after a bit.

The co-op side is very weak. It throws you in a mishmash of mini-game modes, most of which are timed. Like JG said earlier, this really kills the fun. Trying to trap ghosts as fast as possible or even just destroy them (not all apparitions need to be trapped, some are just "zapped" to death). With no lobby, you're unceremoniously booted to the game mode select screen after each round. The someone has to re-invite everyone, and the rush to be Venkman starts anew.

All in all, this is a PERFECT GameFly rental!!

Agreed. It's a fun game, but I'm glad I rented it. The weak co-op is the only thing keeping it from being great. How can you have a game with 4 ghostbusters and not have a full length co-op campaign? Real missed opportunity.

I think the co-op is really fun in this game. I especially love the survival mode because it's like Horde. If anyone else feels the same, I'll be on tonight playing. Feel free to join!
