Post Re: [Playstation Network] - Pixel Junk Monsters
My brother has been addicted to the free flash game, Desktop Tower Defense, for the last three months. I told him about PixelJunk Monsters, which is similar to DTD. He purchased the game immediately, and now he's addicted to PixelJunk Monsters. He plays the game in co-op mode with his 7 yr-old daughter and 4 yr-old son (max 2 players at a time), and they all love it. I purchased and played the game with my brother, and I am getting hooked too. It offers a cool co-op experience - it doesn't require fast reflexes like most shooters, but is still real-time.

I picked this up a few days ago during the $4.99 sale. Ive played a few other tower defense games, and this one seems fun so far. I havent tried the co-op yet.

It screams for online coop, which I heard is on the way (hope they don't charge for it and make it some sort of expansion pack ala super stardust). I stink at this game single player and there fore I don't play it unless I have someone on it with me.

Coop just made this game shine. We've gone back multiple times trying to get more and more maps with a rainbow on them.

The recent addition of trophies had me super excited, but as near as I can tell, the trophy challenges are only single player. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me, as I was really looking forward for yet another excuse to go back and play it with my lady.

I keep hoping they release at least one more content expansion pack for it. I would gladly pick it up.

Yeah, the trophy challenges are single player only.

On the plus side, the few trophies that are not tied to the challenge boards can be done in co-op I believe. (You can get these trophies on any board, not just the challenge ones.)

Oh, thats cool. When I saw the trophy challenges, I assumed that all the game's trophies were only obtainable through the challenges. Its cool that theres more.

I saw that there were some secret trophies, but hadn't looked them up yet. Now that I have, most of them are stuff that I'm not that interested in going back to try. I like the idea of the trophy challenges more, they just need to be coop! Or at least include some that are coop.

If anyone is curious, the secret trophies are listed here (linked so it doesn't spoil it for anyone):

Just as an FYI to everyone, you can earn the secret trophies while attempting the challenge trophies. So if you happen to accomplish the objective of a secret one while working on something else, you will earn the secret trophie.

Also, the secret trophies save immediately. You do not need to finish the board to keep them, so you can start up a board that accomodates your objective and just grab your trophy and leave.

I've gotten all of the trophies from this game (one of the few I have 100% on) and they are not that hard if you just keep trying.

There was another patch download recently, but I couldnt figure out what it did.

As far as I know, online play has not been added. (I have not heard of any plans for this either) There is however, online leaderboards.
