I've seem to recall hearing that they were adding online/splitscreen co-op in SSHD. Has anyone heard about this?

The same-screen co-op is alright, but it's too difficult to move around, you tend to 'pull' the other person, and can't see the enemies on the horizon. This makes playing with an inexperienced person very difficult.

Aaron.

Yes, I found the split screen to be problematic. Sounds like fun in theory but it just didn't work in my opinion. The way the game scrolls makes it quite difficult.

It's just really challenging. My style is more of a "go in one direction around the world while clearing a path with the gold melter." This just doesn't work when you're trying to coordinate with someone else. That is why split-screen would be an excellent addition.

One of the best games available for the PS3 deserves it's own thread. It currently has split screen coop although an update is due shortly that will expand that to include online coop. The single player is fantastic especially if you're a fan of SHMUPS.

Anyone else have the game?

Picked it up after FW 2.4 update. Have 7 trophies in it so far.

Got the game, love it. Got the trophies... Well the ones you can get with the original game!

Grrrrr to the developers for making you buy BOTH expansion packs to get them all!! Wouldn't be so bad if it was just the Solo pack that was included in the trophies, but including ONE trophy for split screen co-op is blatant money grabbing!

Grrr...

I can't argue with you there. Pretty clever of them (or not so clever depending on how you look at it).

SSHD is so fantastic I'd recommend the expansion packs. Your argument aside, it's a great game and worth every ounce of content in my opinion.

I'm up to 11 trophies and have reached level 2. My score barely eclipsed 30,000,000 but that's the best I've done to date.

I'm still stuck at 7, I've been obsessing over the one where you have to boost into the bonus asteroid but just keep hitting it in the wrong place.

I bought this at game launch, but I SUCK. I mean, I haven't even beaten the first planet, even on easy. Don't even ask me about trophies.

this has been my best purchase for a downloadable game on all 3 next gen systems, and I own 42 or so games on xbox live. Definitely worth every penny of all the expansions.

They added a splitscreen co-op mode to SSHD via a downloadable content pack called "HD Team Expansion" it is $4.99 on the PSN.

In addition to the split screen, it has some new modes like deathmatch, a ship editor, and a new soundtrack.

If you have friends who are good at the game, its definitely worth it. Trying to play with a buddy on the same screen is just kind of counter intuitive to the orbiting gameplay style of Super Stardust HD.

Just for future reference, shouldn't this go into the PlayStation Network board?

And to stay on topic, I have 5 trophies! Mostly the ones from beating each level and then the low hanging fruit ones.

I still play this game and it's becoming one of my all-time favorite shmups. I played some Geometry Wars Evolved (XBLA) the other day and it made me realize how awesome SSHD is. It has much more depth and strategy than the average shooter even moreso than Geometry Wars Evolved.

If you're a fan of shmups and if you own a PS3, this game is a must have.

I agree fivespot, I bought SSHD before geowars evolved 2 came out and when I downloaded the trial for that on the 360 I was left less than impressed. SSHD is definitely top tier in it's genre.
