So I just got the game the other day. Its pretty awesome.
Im curious about the multiplayer. How does it work? I thought I read somewhere that you connect to the Wii and then you can play against people anywhere. Is that how it works?

Re: [Nintendo DS] - Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of
Multiplayer works either in ad-hoc or online, and is also cross platform. There are a few flaws that make this game just shy of a must own coop game on the DS tho, such as if you're playing coop with friends either online or local (or both if you have a wifi connection really, up to 4 players) you only progress the hosts story mode, but you get to keep all the exp, gold, items etc that you find along the way. Meaning you can literally be a high level but only on the first town in your own game. If you're planning on playing with a friend who has the game on the Wii (which from what I read is a pretty poor port of the DS version) that person will always have to be the host. The game suffers from a bit of lag over long distances. There are also side quests that you can take from in town, which will reward you, some are coop, some are competitive ala smash brothers-esque games. The biggest let down is the ability to only have 1 main character/story save per game cartridge, you can make tons of side characters to play instead but you won't be able to progress the story unless you're on your main character. All in all, this is a Very fun game, I bought 2 copies.
