Gears of War 2: Patch Number 6 Makes for a Social Affair

Postby samoza » Wed May 19, 2010 5:10 am

Let's gather round and all be friends

If all the news about the 2011 release of Gears of War 3 has not convinced you to unpack Gears of War 2 for a replay, the latest patch from Epic may be just give you the push you need.  Versus is not the first port of call for Co-Optimus when playing the game, but the patch may just draw us in as it is a far more social affair.  Added to this is an easier way for you to jump in and help a friend in Horde.  These changes come in the new match option called 'Social XBOX Live'.

Bout time - having to restart horde each time you wanted to add someone new was annoying.

Clearly they are testing the waters to see what multiplayer features they should implement in GoW3.

sweeeeeet... i'm guessing this isn't the case for splitscreen though. however, this makes it possible to get out of a game, lose the split screen player, and get back into the same game. i'll take it.

ABOUT FRIGGIN' TIME!

PS> its' 1600MSP not 1200 for the All Fronts Collection. However, it's worth it. This patch is like the cherry on top and makes Horde a much better Co-op experience. I thought my GoW days might be over with LP2 and RDR, but this update is strong enough too keep GoW2 in the play list.
Looking for some good co-op!

yes, it is 1600. also, it sounds like you don't need the all fronts collection, if you have ALL the maps (so all the packs besides all fronts), you're good to go.
