Turok Hits Stores this Week

Postby bapenguin » Sun Feb 03, 2008 4:24 pm

After more than a few years off, Turok is back in a brand new game.   The new game has been on our list for some time for both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3.  Of course that means the game features cooperative play.   The co-op mode is a bit like that of the original Ghost Recon on the Xbox 360.

There's a handful of missions that play out like an Unreal Tournament assault match against AI.  I've spent some time with the game this weekend and can happily say the co-op mode is a blast to play.  The objectives are multi-tiered and require some fancy teamwork to get done.  The bad news is there are only 3 co-op missions available!  And while it's a blast running around a dino infested jungle with 3 other buddies, it's hardly worth the $60 investment if that's all that you are looking for.

The single player seems solid, but nothing to write home about.  This might be one of those to wait and pick up in the bargain bin, that is if you have 3 other friends you know will be playing it.  Of course...you could always hit up our forums and find some teammates.

From what I can hear, it's got a whiz-bang start to the game that gets pretty old pretty fast once you put some time into it. It's too bad they couldn't have gone the Gears route and let your buddy play one of the other soldiers/mercs through the single-player campaign. Oh well.

If those 2 are true, then there might be another good Co-op game coming this year =D
What should I write here? Probably just replied on someone's post...
