After much time and effort, I finally completed all the achievements and am now the proud owner of a pet chicken. If I ever manage to upgrade her fully, I plan to name her Henrietta.

I managed to squeeze 4 more upgrades for my chicken out of it. That thing is so darn expensive. Still, it's 4 more than I had before.

anyone found the room upstairs with the open sign? Walked thru the door and 4 weapons were in the room with a chest for mana as well...

not sure what the 'trigger' is... but keep playing and looking? It's WELL worth it...

The "trigger" should be to beat the game on any difficulty. Not sure if it includes the bonus level after the final boss. I also found the secret room now, in the tavern.

well, the door upstairs is definitely finishing the game (but not the bonus level) but the presents under the tree is not. I just finished thru with my second acct (yes, i have 2 steam acct's for LAN play days) and there was nothing under the tree for me, but the 'open' room upstairs was there. Bummer... presents musta been a short term gift.

EDIT: Nope! You have to finish the bonus Glitterham level for the special Christmas present. Got thru it and there they were.

There's supposed to be an update to DD on 1/30 that adds new content such as the Assault Map Pack and the Barbarian class, as well as the usual patch stuff. I'm still insanely addicted to this game. Anybody want to get together and try out the new content?

sure, set us a meet up time and I'll try to be there if its past when I usually work. (usually avail at 10pm until 11pm EST)
