I've always had a soft spot for the old sonic co-op. I could be sooo helpful, fighting off bosses, or flying sonic upwards, all without worry of dieing. Mario galaxy was also great for that, and could really break some of the challenges in a way that made you feel special.

Yeah, Sonic 2 co-op was interesting for the second player. My mate use to zip around as sonic and leave me behind but since I sucked as sonic games, it wasn't game over every time I died either.
