You can dodge?

The game also fails to tell you how to use a zombie as a shield or perform finishing moves on enemies.

Half-assed effort on the developers part, glad I just rented this game

Major disappointment; wonder if the PC version will be at all salvageable with user mods, (like Dead Island)? Then again, if it\'s this flawed to start with, it may not be worth the effort :-/

@marklar

That info is in the instruction manual. I know, it's a little archaic, but it's in there. Don't know if you got a copy of the manual with your rental. If you didn't, yeah, it's all guess work.

This review summed up the game perfectly. I agree 100%. I know it was said a couple times, but DO NOT play this game unless you plan on playing with 3 other people.

I, for the life of me, will never understand why developers think automatic cover is a good thing. I've never played a game where it works properly.

I just wonder how the developers could miss all of these obvious problems. Not knowing how to program AI I can understand (lamentingly), but the rest has very little excuse. Glad I chose not to pick up my preorder and just wait for the bargain bin as Andrew suggests.

This game always looked like being something of a dog. Its one of those Catch 22 situations. I don't want to pay full RRP, but will anyone be playing in 6 months? I think I will stick to Left 4 Dead 1 and 2

Why would you even try without co op duh.... and the online is fun to.... This needs to be reviewed by another person because this review sucks. Almost like it is coming from someone who has never played a shooter before.

I thought his review was fairly accurate and fair. The shooting mechanics are terrible with hit detection being iffy at best, being meleed when I am behind cover is also sort of stupid; also if you had read his article he says he played Single player to get familiar with the controls etc before jumping in with other people.

Andrew has plenty of experience both with shooters and the Resident Evil series. And if the game has a single-player mode, any review needs to cover that mode as well. It's fine if you like ORC more than our reviewer, but you need to respect other people's viewpoints as well. Pretty much everything in our review is echoed or supported by every other critical review out there.

Said it better that I did. While the game is not the worst I have ever played it defiantly would be one I wouldn't dare buy at the 60 dollar price tag.

Best Buy has this on sale for $30, so it may be attractive at that price.

It's pretty raunchy to call out a review without giving reasons for your disdain. Community feedback is not near as valuable here as it once was, but even less so if you can't support it.

If it's just because you disagree with the reviewer's opinion...well, then - frankly - stuff it.

That is NOT a proper basis for being a "good" review.

Of course, not, but to act like our review is an outlier or zany in some way when Andrew just reacted the way most of us would react to the game is uncalled for.

It is not a defense to the review that it corroborates with what "most of us" would think. That's what I'm trying to say!

It should also be noted that this game does not support offline coop in any form, which is disappointing. No splitscreen or system link. My brother and I love playing video games cooperatively, and we live in a region where online gaming is impossible (everyone is on satellite). Even if we could, it wouldn't make sense for us to play online when we could play via system link or even on the same screen. For a developer to design a game that boasts its coop features and then cut out all but one way of playing coop is just lazy.
