In many ways, Resistance is a generic, sci-fi first person shooter. You play a gritty, white male soldier fighting against a terrifying, alien (as in strange) race threatening to wipe out humanity. But, for not being a terribly original premise, it makes up for it in flawless execution. The game is fun and it's even more fun with a partner sitting on the couch next to you blasting away bizarre mutant creatures. The story has some pretty serious non-sequiturs when played in co-op mode, as it's supposed to be the tale of one lone survivor. But, you'll be glad they gave up purity of story for the fun of co-op. Even approaching two years after its release, Resistance is still one of the best co-op experiences to be had on the PS3.
