Online Co-Op: Co-Op Play is available over the internet or an online service like Xbox Live or the PlayStation Network. Each player needs their own system, game, and internet connection.
Couch Co-Op: Couch or Local Co-Op allows players to use one copy of the game with multiple controllers to play co-op. This includes both split screen play and same screen play. Couches are not required.
SplitScreen: The TV is split into multiple screens so each co-op player gets their own viewpoint. The screen could be split vertically or horizontally.
LAN or Systemlink: Co-Op Play is available over a Local Network or System Link Connection. Most likely a router will be required, but you may use a crossover cable in some cases.
Drop-In/Drop-Out: Players can join or leave a cooperative game session at anytime without disrupting an existing player's game.
Team up with up players to take on AI pirates in different scenario maps. Players need to work together and use strategy to over take towns, plunder booty, and generally just be a badass pirate!
While the game ships with maps that are typical for 4 vs. 4 AI there are some community based maps that support 8 player co-op.
Players can drop out anytime and join between maps.
