DJ Hero 2 Released Today, Online Demo and First DLC Revealed

If you like your music games with a bit less metal and a bit more crossfading, you'll be glad to know that DJ Hero 2 is on store shelves starting today.  Up to two turntables and a vocalist can team up to... er, spin that record, babe.  If you're undecided about the game, you can try a browser based demo, using the mouse and keyboard to simulate the true turntable experience.  It's actually pretty fun by itself, though I can't compare it to the real controller as I've never used one.

Combat Arms Adds New Co-Op Map Set in a Mine

It's a good thing those miners in Chile didn't get stuck in this underground area, because they probably wouldn't have survived 70 days fighting zombies with only a few cans of tuna at their disposal.  Perhaps Nexon's timing is impeccable, or perhaps they just have good luck - but they are jumping all over this new mining fad by launching a new co-op map called Black Lung in Combat Arms.

Steam Surpasses 30 Million Users

Valve have announced that Steam, their online digital store and community for PC gamers, has surpassed 30 million users.  What's more impressive is that sales on the platform have increased over 200% from the prior year and the adoption rate of their SteamWorks platform has increased to over 200 titles as well.  What does this all mean?  It means digital distribution and PC gaming is as strong as ever.

Microbot Takes You On A Fantastic Voyage Through Inner Space

The twin stick shooter is enjoying quite a bit of popularity these days, and a new title in the genre has to do something special to really stand out among the field.  MicroBot's innovation is the setting: the inside of a human body.  Two players can team up in their microscopic ships to eradicate diseased cells that have merged with rogue nanobots.  A dynamic level generator will ensure that, as in real life, no two human bodies are alike, and the MicroBots are upgradable, as well.  Most intriguing is the "innovative co-op editor" that allows partners to work together to create the ultimate MicroBot.

PowerGig: Rise of the Six String Brings Pro Guitar Before Rock Band 3

As we mentioned earlier today, there's quite a few music games coming out this fall.  One game though that's doing something a bit different is PowerGig: Rise of the Six String.  Like Rock Band 3 and its pro mode, PowerGig is looking to add something to a stalling genre by introducing ways to learn how to really play the instruments.  Best of all, it's out now.

The Orange Block - Virtual LEGOs for Free

It's unclear exactly who is behind this unlicensed, unofficial, free indie game...but they've obviously put a lot of effort into bringing a virtual open world of LEGO creations to life. The concept is simple: pick from around 70 different types of blocks, pick a color for each, and assemble them however you like.

Watch One Full Co-Op Match of Hoard for PSN

We've been squatting on this video link, hoping for a release date. As yet, however, none has been given. Hoard is a simplistic twin-stick shooter with real-time strategy elements - it looks very appealing, and appears to have a bit more depth than originally anticipated. None of the screenshots we've posted so far have truly let the game shine, so we're embedding a video below that showcases one entire co-op match.
