Our Weekend In Gaming: J'accuse!

The Co-Opticrew has fought back!  My recent admonishment of their predictability did not go unnoticed, and y'all... I am paying for it.  Never mind the French jabs or the annoying weekend plans, it's the little things I can't get over.  It's the staring, the water cooler whispering, the "accidental" tossing of my packed lunches into the trash.  I can't take it anymore!  Play as many space-looters as you want, you dang philistines.  Just leave me out of it.

Earth Defense Force 5 Now Saving the Planet on Steam

When Earth Defense Force 5 launched on PlayStation 4 last year, PC gamers immediately began to ask when the game would be coming to Steam. The previous two EDF games, Earth Defense Force 4.1 and Wing Diver the Shooter, both arrived on PC after first launching on Sony’s console, after all. Now those PC prayers have been answered, because EDF 5 is finally available on Steam.

You still have to wait for your co-op partner to watch cutscenes, too...

Iceborne Will Be The First and Only Expansion to Monster Hunter: World

Game Informer's Jeff Cork recently sat down with Daisuke Ichihara and Ryozo Tsujimoto - the director and producer (respectively) for the forthcoming Monster Hunter: World expansion, "Iceborne" - for a "Rapid-Fire Questions" interview and got a few details about what to expect. The bad news? This will be the only expansion to Monster Hunter: World. The worst news? You still can't skip cutscenes and you still have to wait for your buddy to watch one before you can join their hunt...

Two months until you can take to the streets of River City once more

River City Girls Arrives Soon For All Your Co-Op Brawling Needs

Perhaps one of the most well-known and classic entries in the "co-op beat 'em up" genre is River City Ransom, which was originally released over 30 years ago on the Famicon/NES. That game was actually the third in the (now) long-running "River City" (or, "Kunio-Kun") series and all these years later, it's getting what feels like a sequel in the form of River City Girls. The twist? Rather than playing as "Alex" (Kunio) and "Ryan" (Riki) who set out across the city to rescue their girlfriends, you play as Kyoko and Misako (the girlfriends) and set out to rescue your boyfriends.

Borderlands 2 Commander Lilith DLC Stream Recap

Last month, Gearbox announced/revealed new DLC for Borderlands 2 titled "Commander Lilith and the Fight for Sanctuary." This add-on content provides a bit of a story bridge between the end of Borderlands 2 and the start of the forthcoming Borderlands 3. With not many new co-op releases these days, we decided to hop into the DLC and see how Pandora looks nearly 7 years later...

Meet The Hive Bustin' Crew From Gears 5's Escape Mode

Last month, The Coalition showed off the new three player co-op mode that, Escape, will be a part of Gears 5 when it arrives in September. Rather than staying in one spot and fighting off wave after wave of enemies, Escape puts you in the boots of one of three members of a "Hivebuster" crew and tasks you with being able to get out from the middle of a Hive before the angry Swarm, or the deadly bio weapon you deployed, takes you out. In three new videos, you can now get a chance to "meet" the members of the crew and go ahead and call "dibs" on your fave.
