Dead Space Extraction Inserting On PSN/XBLA

It seems like the Wii just can't catch a break with some of the gore-riddled games. In response to somewhat disappointing sales, EA will be unleashing the previously Wii exclusive Dead Space: Extraction on the other consoles as a downloadable title. It was previously reported that EA was making this shift, but that rumor was shot down as a just that, "a rumor" according to EA themselves. We're glad to see them rescind that claim to bring the game to a much more accepting and wide-range audience.

Announcement for Red Faction: Armageddon Confirms Co-Op Geo-Modding

My very first experience with a dual-analog shooter was a PlayStation 2 demo disc that included about ten minutes' worth of Volition's Red Faction. Despite the negative critical response of its sequel  - Red Faction II - and the glaring lack of co-op in last year's Red Faction Guerrilla, the entire series still holds intrigue with me because of that first experience.

Dungeon Siege 3 Will Be on Consoles as Well as PC

Today Square Enix announced that Dungeon Siege 3 is in development by Obsidian Entertainment. Though this is the third title in the Dungeon Siege series (bet you guys couldn't have guessed that!), this means that Dungeon Siege 3 will be getting both a new publisher and new developer this time around (Dungeon Siege and Dungeon Siege 2 were both published by Microsoft and developed by Gas Powered Games). Gas Powered Games, however, will be overseeing the game's production.

PlayStation Network Getting Dragon Co-Op with Hoard

This September, the PlayStation Network is getting a twin-stick arcade action game featuring dragons as the main playable characters. In what looks like a fun little game that will give you the freedom to cause destruction, angst, and mass hysteria in developer Big Sandwich's fictional medieval kingdom, Hoard can be played with up to three friends (four players total), either offline, online, or both.

Lost Planet 2 Patch Addresses Player Concerns

Lost Planet 2 is a fine experience in most respects; as our review points out, it has some epic monster-munching moments that are truly memorable.  But there are also some things about the game that will have you tearing your hair out in frustration.  The biggest problem, in my opinion, is the awkward checkpoint/respawn system.  Many times, we'd fight our way to a giant Akrid, die horribly, and respawn not at the beginning of the Akrid fight, but several maps previous.  It's terribly frustrating, and makes the game artificially difficult, especially when you consider how brainless your AI allies are most of the time.  These two needs are being addressed in a patch, available today on PSN and soon for Xbox 360 users.

Co-Opticast Episode 44: The Week Late Episode

We apologize for the delay on this episode, it was actually recorded last week on Memorial Day - but due to life and whatever else - we didn't managed to get it up until right now. But don't think that makes it any less of a piece of entertainment. We talk Brink, Alien Breed Impact, Fable 3, and plenty of other news. Also on the plate is a brief E3 preview of the upcoming Co-Optimus coverage.
