This Week in Co-Op: Tea and Cupcakes

As any Co-Optimus reader can probably tell you, our staff has a sweet tooth for kooky and interesting co-op games. Fairytale Fights...50 Cent: Blood in the Sand...'Splosion Man...the crazier it is, the more we get a kick out of it. Well, this week I inadvertently stumbled into one such trippy experience while playing the rather serious SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3 - it was called Tea and Cupcakes, and it was all sorts of strange.

Rockstar Devs Tease Possibility of Additional Co-Op DLC, Co-Op Trophies for PS3

Rockstar's latest open-world epic, Red Dead Redemption, has certainly taken the gaming world by storm with its merging of an incredible Western story and feel with the usual GTA mechanics.  While the co-op elements that came with the game's initial release may not be all for which we were hoping, we take solace in the fact that before the game ever came out, Rockstar promised to release additional co-op missions for the Free Roam mode as free DLC later this month.  Now, it seems like that may not be all of the co-op DLC Rockstar has planned.  The development studio recently answered a few frequently asked questions they received, and one of those questions was centered on whether or not more co-op opportunities would be forthcoming.

New Final Fantasy Game for DS Offers 4 Player Co-Op

Square Enix, the company behind the much heralded and condemned (depending on who you ask) Final Fantasy series of games, has recently announced a new entry in the series, entitled Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light, due to hit store shelves October 5, 2010.  Like many of the Crystal Chronicles offshoots, such as Crystal Bearers and Echoes of Time, Heroes of Light will allow jRPG enthusiasts to team up to fight the evil hordes.  There aren't too many details just yet about what kind of co-op this will be, e.g., local only, wireless, how the co-op system works, but it's a promising start, at least.  The press release and some in-game screenshots can be found after the break.
