Most people typically think of first person shooters when it comes to cooperative gameplay, but Electronic Arts wants to break that mold with a co-op RTS. Red Alert 3 has taken on such a task by providing a co-op experience throughout the game's entire campaign. We sat down with the game's Xbox 360 Producer Greg Kasavin to talk about the challenges of such a task.
The music studio feature was one of the most highly anticipated things about recently released Guitar Hero World Tour. If you read our review, you know that we found the studio a bit lacking, to say the least. It may not be quite what we were promised, but hey, the competition doesn't have it at all right? Videogamer recently spoke to Rock Band 2 lead designer Dan Teasdale about GH WT's music creation tools. What did he have to say?
That's right, the 2 player co-op shooter for the Wii ooozes style. With a film grain look, pops and scratches, and a new art style, the whole game is a semi-reboot of the series. Sega created the game from the ground up to take advantage of the Wii hardware, and while the game is still an on-rails shooter for the most part, there is some freedom in movement of the camera using the Wii-mote. Apparently, other artisitic types across the interwebs think as highly of the Lancer as we do here at Co-Optimus.
Normally, we don't like to tease too much. Neither us, Sam, but heck, you just couldn't resist, could you? Fable II developer Lionhead Studios has posted on their dev blog that a "big" announcement is coming next week. Now, I can't think of anything that would certainly make the fan base happier than a co-o...
Ahh, the good ol days. The days when EA was EA and Activision was Activision. Somehow, somewhere in this wide universe roles have reversed. Electronic Arts are releasing original titles like Dead Space, Mirror's Edge, and Army of Two while Activision is making 379 versions of Guitar Hero.
The Left 4 Dead zombie horde has officially been unleashed on Xbox 360 and PC owners today as the previously limited demo is available to all. So far it seems our members impressions are just as favorable as our earlier ones were - this game frickin rocks. There's something about four friends, lots of bullets and exploding zombie heads that make this co-op experience like no other.
It finally happened. Epic has released the sequel to our most popular co-op game to date. Gears of War 2 takes players back to Sera to take on the Locus horde. The best way to vanquish it? With a buddy.
