Halo Reach Multiplayer Beta Coming May 3, Plus More Details

As Microsoft's X10 event continues, more and more details about Bungie's upcoming Halo title are (ahem) coming into reach.  The official start date for the Halo Reach multiplayer beta is May 3.  If you have a copy of Halo 3: ODST, you can participate in the beta.  If Bungie follows the pattern for the Halo 3 beta, it's likely Reach will be versus multiplayer only, though we here at Co-Optimus are holding out for a Firefight-like mode as well.

Lost Planet 2 to be Split Down the Middle

One of the biggest gripes that many co-op fans have with otherwise excellent co-op games is that you can only play cooperatively with friends online.  This is no good if you like the warmth of another human being and want to play games on the same TV.  The latest news from Capcom should help appease this sociable sort as they confirm in Japanese game magazine Famitsu that Lost Planet 2 will have splitscreen co-op.

One of my all time favorite crazy games is Typing of the Dead, a game that blends House of the Dead with Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing.  Yes, it's crazy - and it's crazy addictive for geeks like myself.  Developer Epicenter Games looks to release a spiritual sequel to the genre, with a game that combines Guitar Hero style gameplay with House of the Dead style action.  Enter Rock of the Dead.
