Having wrapped up the single player campaign, playing some co-op, and enjoying some FireFight - it's time for our Halo 3: ODST review. We plan on posting it tomorrow morning, so be sure to check back for that. Until then we've posted the first two minutes of the game to wet your appetite.
Konami announced yesterday that their 4 player co-op shooter that's "Smash TV meets Left 4 Dead" will be released on the Xbox LIVE Arcade and Playstation Network next Wednesday, Sept. 23, and Thursday, Sept. 24, respectively. The twin stick shooter that puts you and your friends in the middle of 55 days-worth (read levels) of zombie attacks will retail for 800 MS points and $9.99 on the PSN. Personally, I'm looking forward to slaying a few more zombies before Left 4 Dead 2 arrives, and the idea of luring zombies into a wood chipper, as highlighted in the Playstation Blog's interview with John Slavin, sounds too fun to pass up. This week, a major co-op release hit store shelves everywhere. Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is the latest in an excellent series of action-RPGs, particularly enjoyable for comic book readers or general super hero fans. We discussed the first game in the series, X-Men Legends, for a previous Co-Op Casual Friday. Today, we turn our attention to X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse.

Arcen Games has just patched their co-op RTS, AI War, to version 1.301. With it brings a host of improvements to both the interface, ship graphics, new units, new network code and a host of other tweaks. Considering the game claims you can have 30,000 units in a battle at once I'm sure the net code needs to be very neat and tidy for a lag free co-op experience.
When purchasing headphones, I will rarely if ever even glance at ear buds for any reason. To me, ear buds are the cheap inserts that come with products, mildly uncomfortable with sub-par sound. That is, until I tried out the Tritton AX Ear buds that I received at the Blue Skittle Party at PAX. Starcraft was my first test with its phenomenal in-game sounds coming through loud and clear, then on a Nintendo DS to see if they worked just as well on the road.
Is the music game genre oversaturated? Some might say yes. I'd argue otherwise; there's still plenty of good music out there that isn't available in video game form. In any event, we have some details about Harmonix's upcoming cutesified LEGO Rock Band. Iggy Pop will be appearing in the game, as the tutorial voice, and also in plastic action figure form, as you an see above. Iggy's song "The Passenger" will be in the game's song list.
Stardock has announced that preorders are now being taken for the upcoming micro-expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire entitled Diplomacy. The DLC adds faction status and trade pact options within the game, as well as the ability to issue new missions to other players. The biggest addition is a brand new diplomatic skill tree which adds over thirty technologies.
Spelunker HD is already available on the Japanese PlayStation Network, and the remake of the classic NES game has garnered some fairly solid buzz. Now we have word that the game will be making its way stateside, along with the included 6 player online co-op mode!
