Red Alert 3 to Feature a Co-Op Campaign

Red Alert 3 will mostly be a "What If?" kind of game which looks into the possibilities the first two games didn't cover. Classic technologies like Tesla coils, teleportation, and time traveling will be supplemented by new innovations like armored bears, floating island fortresses and... get this, intelligent dolphins! Some of the interesting features that will be making its way into the game include a first ever heard of co-op campaign mode, a focus on the naval combat aspects, and all the Kalashnikov designer rifles a Command & Conquer game can hold.

Prototype's Co-Op Promises Big Things

Rock, Paper, Shotgun has a nice preview up of Prototype.  Prototype seems to be an evolution of sorts of a Crackdown style game in which the player controls are character with super human powers that are upgraded and grow over time.  Of course, it wouldn't be news if the game didn't have a cooperative mode, and to follow in the footsteps ...

New Resistance 2 Co-Op Details

A lot of work has been put into the co-op. Lead Designer Colin Munson says “Eight players is that sweet team size. It’s enough so that you pretty much know the people on your team but it’s big enough to let new players in.” The co-op campaign will focus on teamwork, with the game testing players ability to work together. “The initial bridge attack forces players to deal with danger from multiple angles. The Titans meanswhile require the squad to divide and conquer, as these behomoths can easily take out an entire squad with one hit from a rocket cannon.”

Gamers Still Looking for Co-Op Games

The game was a literary masterpiece with an incredibly original story. So it was with great surprise to find out that Bioshock, the spiritual successor to the System Shock universe was not going to include any form of multiplayer CO-OP component. You would think that the developers would have included it based on the critical success of System Shock 2. But alas they didn’t and we were forced to drudge through Rapture in a solo capacity. I read recently that Bioshock had just won 11 awards for various things, interesting but did it really deserve them, there’s practically zero re-playability in the game. System Shock 2 on the other hand has mountains of replayability. If they had made System Shock 3 or even re-made System Shock 2 I’m sure it would have been even more acclaimed.

There's another article over at popular blog Infendo in which a reader asks the same question.
