Errors In Trine

While poking around for information from Frozenbyte, the developers of the beautiful game Trine, we learned a few things we had incorrect from our sources. First, we were excited about both online, and offline co-op with an arcade title. As we understood this was the case, it caught us by surprise when we learned the game was only going to feature Offline co-op at launch. It was mentioned that Online co-op may be patched after release, but they were unable to give us any more details.

Co-Op Casual Friday: Back to the Arcade

My family and I have been on vacation for just over a week now.  We've traveled from our home in Missouri to Florida, with a stop in Georgia in between.  Though I love my Nintendo DS, it just doesn't take the place of a 360 or PS3, or any game on a big screen.  So, to keep the gamer itch scratched while on the road, we've tried to hit every arcade we saw.  For Co-Op Casual Friday today, we'll take a look at the best and the worst of the games we played.  Naturally, they all feature co-op! Our first arcade was at one of those mega truck stops you see on interstate highways.  We needed gas, and there was a Wendy's next door (I have a weakness for Double Stacks), so we pulled in and took a break.  Besides a really big aquarium filled with all sorts of colorful fish, they had an arcade!  Quickly, we dashed inside, sure that the neon "games" sign meant some co-op joy was in store.  How wrong we were!  There was a crane game, an air hockey table, a battered and faded Ms. Pac -man, and only one co-op game at all.  Invasion, it was rather unimaginatively named, and after watching the attract mode, we decided to pass on even playing it.  Generic cabinet, nondescript title, and "meh" graphics all added up to a big pass.

Raven Squad Blends Two Genres Seamlessly

When Raven Squad was announced, we had high hopes for the title in terms of it's cooperative gameplay.  The game features the ability to switch between a first person shooter style game and an RTS style game on the fly.  Better yet, in co-op each player is free to play each view independantly allowing for some interesting strategy.

Ghostbusters Single Player and Co-Op Impressions

Perhaps it's the fact that Ghostbusters for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 starts with the old, film grain and all,  Columbia splash screen.  Or maybe it's the famous theme song that kicks in shortly after.  Whatever the reason, anyone born before 1985 is going to immediately have a smile on their face once the Ghostbusters disc hits their console.  It's been a long time coming since we've had a new and original Ghostbusters game, and it's finally here - and it has the entire, well most, of the cast backing it.
