Beyond Co-Op, May 2nd to May 9th
The stories for this week:
Is Star Trek on your plans this weekend? I know it's on some of ours.
The PlayStation Blog has posted a video interview with Neil Druckman, co-designer for Uncharted 2. The interview goes into a bit of detail regarding the game's recently announced co-op mode, and even explains how things might work for the three players.
A few days ago we told you about the Terminator Salvation Twitter game. It's a unique mix of social networking and guerilla marketing. Not content with taking over one social network, Skynet is expanding to the likes of Facebook and the iPhone.
Playlogic has announced a new port of their horror title Obscure: The Aftermath. The game was previously available on the PC, Wii and PS2 and featured a two player co-op mode. The new version will be released later this year on the PSP, and will retain the co-op modes of the console counterparts. What's even better is the portable version of this game will also support drop-in and drop-out play! Now you can run in fear without ruining your friend's game.
I'm feeling generous this evening, so lets do a giveaway. Up for grabs are two copies of Call of Duty: World at War for the PC. To enter to win all you need to do is leave a comment on this post! It's a simple as that. Of course it wouldn't hurt if you told your friends, relatives, pets, and badgers all about Co-Optimus.com and our awesome contest too.
We have yet another user-submitted Co-Op Couples article in the form of a great read from brainp0wa. Continue reading for the first fun chapter of a two-part Co-Op Couples series.
Activision has released a huge amount of information about a whole slew of upcoming music games. Not content with one big release, they've got a quartet of games ready to go for the always crowded fall video game release schedule. (Insert your own witty comment about quantity vs. quality here.)
It appears another classic co-op game is going to make its way to the Xbox Live Arcade. The Sega Genesis classic Gunstar Heroes has seen a leaked achievement list. As with most previous games that have had their achievement lists leaked, it all but confirms an imminent release of the title.
Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you the end of the longest running development of a game. No, Duke Nukem Forever has not finally been finished. Instead it appears that 3D Realms has shut down, closed their doors, and ceased to exist.
There's an inherent nature in every human being to want to collect things. Perhaps its baseball cards, coins, comics or pocket lint - everyone has a desire to create a collection of something. I think this is why I find myself hopelessly addicted to a game that's well over 6 months old. This week I picked up Too Human again, and I'm addicted to it not for the story or gameplay, but because of the co-op and item collection.
