Can the old men hack it at this RTS?

Act of Aggression - 4v2 Comp Stomp Co-Op Stream Recap and Impressions

Last night's Monday Night Stream consisted of the new RTS from developer Eugen, Act of Aggression. The game is clearly a throwback to a title and series many of us loved - Command and Conquer. From the music, to the units, to the presentation and even some of the special abilities - the inspiration is clear and frankly that's a good thing for those of us who grew up gaming on computers in the 1990s. Yes we're old gamers trying to play an RTS with a APM of about 7.

Big expansion is on the way.

Guild Wars 2 is Now Free

So, the core version of Guild Wars 2 is now, as ArenaNet puts it, Play for Free. That's the good kind of free that really means free, not the kind of free that involves microtransactions for everything from equipping weapons to in-game sneezing. You can download the client and start playing the core version of Guild Wars 2 right away. Or tomorrow, or whenever you feel like it, really. It's free, baby!

But wait, there's a catch!

Nvidia Share Could Make Local Co-Op a Little Less Local

Local co-op is great. You get to sit down with friends, play some lag-free games, and save your best curses for online co-op. The catch is that you have to haul everybody over to your place to get said gaming sessions going. Worse still, you usually have to put on pants for those sessions, and that's just not right. Good thing Nvidia is working on something that might fix that limitation.

Honestly, I'm more interested in the non-combat RTS, Act of Passive Aggression.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Actively Aggressive Edition

Hey gang, what's up?  We've got a whole big thing of weekend coming up, meaning the staff finally has time to transfer their aggression onto tiny virtual soldiers.  Being that we're not some sort of centrally controlled hivemind (That would be crazy!  Who would even think that?  Ha!  Ha! ...Ahem.), some of us are enjoying other, less rage-focused activities.  As always, be sure to tune into F.A.L.C.O. at 9PM CDT tonight if you want to catch our very own Eric Murphy pulling off heists against scores of the formerly living.

Tower 57 Officially Funded, Will Bring The Radioactive Twenties To Us Early Next Year

The Roaring Twenties were, by most accounts, a pretty swell time to be alive in America.  Jazz music was growing, women were becoming more important members of society, and it seemed like everybody had plenty of dough to toss around.  The recently funded Tower 57 recognizes this positivity, and asks, "What if, instead of that, everything was awful all of the time?"  As it turns out, the answer looks pretty rad.
