The Co-Opticrew has quite the varied lineup scheduled for this weekend.  In fact, the only games that seem to be getting the double-dip treatment are Divinity: Original Sin 2 and Super Mario Odyssey.  To be honest, I think that's gonna be pretty hard to avoid, at least until we finish up all the combined content they have to offer in, say, 2023.  Get this, we're even diving into *gasp* mobile gaming, if for no other reason but to scratch a certain tactical RPG itch.

It looks like the folks at Toylogic have had it with people moaning about XP events.  Out of the kindness of their hearts, they've been granting the occasional limited-time XP multiplier for their latest release, Happy Dungeons, but that's (presumably) just not enough.

Earlier this week, Hi-Rez added a new co-op adventure to their F2P god battler, SMITE. We decided to dive in and check it out, despite our lack of skill or knowledge about the game. In a recent blog post, Ubisoft acknowledged that it has been nearly two years since their launch of Rainbow 6 Siege, but their plan to keep heaping out content releases hasn’t changed. The post covers their latest, Operation White Noise, but perhaps the most exciting bit is a brief “We will have more news to share on the exciting things to come in Year 3...” early on, meaning that this may just be the start.

With the launch of the Xbox One X a variety of games have come forward with enhanced editions, the latest of which is Gears of War 4. Although GoW 4 was originally released on the Xbox One only a year ago, the Enhanced version for the One X is pushing either the graphics or speed of gameplay itself.

Some of you may have been looking forward to some old-school gaming in 2017 with the release of ToeJam and Earl: Back in the Groove, but you will have to hold your horses as the game is now delayed until 2018.

After a ravishing bout of success on Kickstarter in 2015, Descent: Underground was initially headed for exclusive release on the personal computer.  In fact, just a couple months after its crowdfunding campaign ended, it arrived on Steam's Early Access program.  Things have changed a bit since then, but mostly for the better.

After a delay and a closed beta this past summer, "Comrades," the four player co-op expansion to the otherwise single-player Final Fantasy 15, will finally arrive next week. You'll get the expansion automatically if you own the Season Pass, otherwise you'll need to drop some money for it, which should be somewhere in the $16.99 to $19.99 range.

A new week means a new batch of co-op releases. We're starting to wind down a little from the frenzy of the past couple months, but there are two great games out today that are well worth checking out. Nioh makes its debut on the PC as Nioh: Complete Edition, and twin-stick shooter fans should definitely check out Assault Android Cactus on the Xbox One.

Young Horses Games has announced that their octopus dad sim, Octodad: Dadliest Catch, will be coming to the Nintendo Switch on November 9th. If you somehow missed noticing this singularly unique game when it originally released back in 2014, Octodad is about a caring father and husband who just happens to be an octopus in disguise.
