Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is a beautiful top-down shooter from Natsume and ININ Games. The latest in a long-running series that started with Kiki Kaikai, Reshrined offers five playable characters, a fresh story mode, and 2-player local co-op. Players can't just jump into the cooperative Free Mode, however. It normally has to be unlocked by completing Story Mode solo, which could take hours. Thankfully, we've got a code to unlock co-op right away!

It's not often that a game receives online multiplayer years after release, but it does happen. Case in point: Double Dragon IV from Arc System Works. The retro-style beat 'em up came to all major platforms, one system at a time, but initially without an online mode. A few years later, though, the game was updated to add 2-player online co-op! That's quite an addition for a small-scale $7 game, so we had to try it out and share our impressions.

When Sega announced the Mega Drive Mini 2 for the Japanese market at the beginning of June, we wondered when an announcement for the American market would be coming. That finally happened, as the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is now official and already available for preorder! The Genesis Mini 2 and Mega Drive Mini 2 will each have shared and unique games, including co-op classics like Rolling Thunder 2 (US) and Final Fight CD (Japan).

This week, everybody who's anybody is playing Spidersaurs, a run-and-gun shooter from WayForward. Preorders have just opened up on Xbox for a similar game, though: Knights & Guns from Polish developer Baltoro Games (makers of Urban Flow). Knights & Guns is a single-screen shooter/platformer in the style of Pang Adventures. Already available on Switch and iiRcade, it's due out on Xbox in September, complete with 2-player local co-op.

We've been so excited for WayForward's new run-and-gun shooter, Spidersaurs, that we interviewed the developer ahead of release day. Spidersaurs lets players arm up and blast away at a variety of freaky dino-spider hybrids. It's a deliberately cartoon-like concept that allows for colorful characters and levels, not to mention widely varied and unique monster baddies. Spidersaurs has finally launched on all major platforms, complete with 2-player local co-op.

Moo Lander is a charming and silly Metroidvania game from The Sixth Hammer that recently arrived on consoles and Steam. Trapped on an alien planet, a lone astronaut must pilot his ship across hostile terrain while scavenging for resources and dealing with bizarre alien cows. In addition to the solo campaign, Moo Lander also features co-op minigames for up to 4 players. The Steam version of the game is on sale right now, making it a perfect time to suit up and blast some cows.

Back in 2018, Koei Tecmo and Omega Force released Warriors Orochi 4 on consoles and PC, and it was good. Warriors Orochi 3, however, never got a PC version - until now. 10 years after the first console versions, Steam now has Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Definitive Edition. This new edition bundles the hack-and-slash epic with nearly all of its DLC to make a truly grand and definitive adventure - complete with split-screen co-op.

When I reviewed Final Vendetta, the modern retro-style brawler from Bitmap Bureau, my chief complaint was the game's difficulty. It's fun but tough! In our interview with developer Mike Tucker, he promised that balance tweaks and a new Casual difficulty setting would be coming to consoles. Players needn't wait for the patch to beat the game, though, because there's already a cheat menu with a level select and invincibility option! We'll tell you how to reach it.

Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series is a collection of two classic 2.5D platformers, newly enhanced for modern consoles and PC. Not only do both games look a lot nicer than they originally did, they also allow a second player to join Klonoa as a support character. The method for bringing in a co-op partner is a bit clunky, but we're here to help!

Back in the days of the first PlayStation, Namco released a magical 2.5D platformer called Klonoa: Door to Phantomile. It would go on to inspire several more games such as Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil for PlayStation 2. 25 years later, the first two games have come to modern platforms in HD remastered form as Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series.
