Remember those co-op heist missions Rockstar promised would be coming to GTA Online? The good news is that they are indeed coming, and fairly soon! The developer recently filled the community in on all the coming content arriving in the next couple of months, so prepare yourselves.
This weekend the recommended PC specs were revealed on the Steam store listing for Watch Dogs. Steam pre orders are also open, which include in-game content for those that are ready to take out their wallets.
Not a whole lot coming this week, but a movie tie-in that is tying in with the DVD and Blu-Ray release is on the fore front and a release of a console title on Steam. Of note, Broforce is out on early access on Steam too - but we won't count that as an official release...yet.
It's hard to keep just about anything under wraps in this newfangled digital frontier. Case in point, the internet watchdogs who patrol Amazon in like six different countries noticed two new items from publisher Deep Silver: Saints Row IV: Game of the Century Edition, and Dead Island Double Pack. While a Deep Silver rep has come forward and announced the Game of the Century edition, it's only been announced for Europe.
After a slight delay, Divinity: Original Sin has finally made its way into Beta, which can still be picked up on Steam's Early Access for $39.99. Larian Studios has been hard at work on a slew of new additions to see this product away from Alpha, implementing new features such as picking pockets and a fresh character creation screen.
Aside from voxel sandbox games, Flappy Bird clones and "gritty" first person shooters with muscular male protagonists, the new "it" genre everybody's talking about is the cooperative starship simulator. Ok, maybe it's not as mainstream as we'd like, but the idea is certainly catching on. Pulsar: Lost Colony is the latest addition to the budding sub-genre, and the developers have some great ideas at a rolling boil.
We already know from the images and trailers we have seen that Child of Light is one good looking game, but I for one would like to see more! Some of these new images may be more of the same, but they also give us a look at the character and crafting sides of the game.
While the internet continues to patch up its wounded ego over the whole Facebook/Oculus fiasco, we've been playing our co-op games with big grins on our faces. But since not all games have co-op play (gasp), Beyond Co-Op is here to tease you with some of the more noteworthy news bits from the previous week. Sit back and see how the other side lives.
Let's face it, if you're in the market for a gaming headset there are literally hundreds of choices. And in my personal opinion, there are very few "wrong" choices to make if you are willing to invest in a pair. Some folks will balk at $100 or $200 pair of headsets, but if you use them daily they are well worth the price you pay. We've been a longtime fan of Astro's headsets on this site, reviewing numerous pairs over the years. But their latest endeavor is a bit different than their last, and it might be an industry first.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls is so hot right now. After the first week there has been almost 3 million sales of the first Diablo 3 expansion. Many of the issues of the original game have been fixed, a new class and act has been added, and the end game is exciting again!
We're still knee deep in the undead for Diablo 3's expansion, which just so happens to have received a 50% XP bonus this weekend. It gives us even more reason to click click click until our fingers fall off.
Originally due at the end of April, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II has been delayed about a month, to May 22. Announced in a release with a few new screenshots, Neocore Games stated that the extra time would be used to further polish the title. The new release date marks the one year anniversary of the first game in the trilogy, which we're betting is not a coincidence.
