February was a busy month. More than 50 co-op offerings across all platforms and many genres were released making it hard to choose which ones to buy and enjoy with our friends. No, "all of them" is sadly not an option both in terms of available money and time.
Square-Enix have announced a remastered version of the PlayStation 1 classic RPG Legend of Mana is coming to PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch this summer. While the game was available on the PS3 in it's original form, the remaster is bringing several updates and quality of life improvements to the game.
It has been sometime since we've talked about Anthem, Bioware's ambitious open world shlooter that was set to take on the likes of Destiny 2. Immediately out of the game everyone was disappointed in the state of the game and the quality of its content when it was released in February of 2019.
The Ghosts 'n Goblins series is returning, famous for its punishing difficulty but rewarding gameplay. The Capcom series first saws the light of day in 1985 in the arcades and home consoles like Nintendo. Now, years later an updated version of the game is out on Nintendo Switch with slick visuals, new levels and enemies, and of course heart adorned underwear. For the King is a game we checked out back in 2018 on PC, since then we've seen releases on all of the major consoles and critical acclaim. The game takes a co-op board game like approach to tactical RPGs with a simplistic yet attractive art style and a focus on replayability. Now almost 3 years since the game's initial release we have our first piece of premium DLC called The Lost Civilization.
The long rumor has finally come to light. Blizzard is releasing a remastered version of Diablo II called Diablo II: Resurrected. And taking a queue from several other remasters like Halo, the game will offer the ability to flip between classic graphics and modern on the fly. The entire game has been remastered in a modified version of the Diablo 3 engine supporting 4K Resolutions.
Once again, the inexorable march of time has ferried us to another weekend, and instead of dwelling on our own mortality, the Co-Opticrew has chosen to distract ourselves with - you guessed it - video games. All things considered, it's not a bad way to go about spending our time. Who knows what we'd be up to if not for co-op games? We could be obsessing over far-fetched conspiracy theories or, even worse, mumble rap. The mind shudders at the thought.
The eternal rivalry between plants and zombies will be thriving in the Nintendo ecosystem later this year. As much as the hatred between these two has burned over the years, it's worked out quite well for them from a business standpoint. Maybe this "conflict" is more nefarious than we thought. Or maybe not.
No longer must prospective farmers sequester themselves to separate consoles for co-op crop waterin'. Stardew Valley's 1.5 update, which introduced local co-op on PC back in December, has finally made its way to the game's console releases. That means you and up to three friends can bicker over crop placement from the comfort of a single couch. The Midwestern dream has come to fruition!

Just like that, co-op fans have been blessed with another gift from the puzzle-y heavens. The We Were Here series, which currently contains a trilogy of mind-bending titles, has released its first episode on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Better yet, it's completely free until February 22nd.
Survival games are all the rage these days, with the trend starting many years ago with Minecraft, we've seen the genre absolutely explode across all gaming platforms. We've had dinosaurs, zombies, and even cannibals as a setting for these games. Now with a new game from developer Iron Gate we have Vikings. It's Valheim an up to 10 player co-op game now in early access on PC.
