What's an Unglob?

Another Creature Joins the Roster of Guardians of Middle-Earth

Everyone loves spiders. Especially giant spiders --giant spiders with spiny legs that skitter around on needle-point claws, meticulously working bone-crushing chelicerae framed by sharp, venom-filled fangs, peering into your soul with their glassy, alien stares of desperate hunger. Makes me feel all warm a fuzzy. The makers of Guardians of Middle-Earth are tapping into our universal love of spiders with their new character, Unglob.

A sin-sational cooperative RPG

Divinity: Original Sin Preview

Larian Studios are known for crafting thoughtful RPG’s. They have created wonderful games in the Divinity series, and the upcoming Divinity: Dragon Commander appears to push the envelope in strategy gaming. Returning to their roots, Larian has taken a traditional RPG and centered it around the meaningful interactions of players as the cornerstone. This game, which we have been following closely for some time, is Divinity: Original Sin. As a cooperative experience, we have taken a great interest in this title due to the fact that the greatest gaming immersion will come out of playing with another person.

I also got to talk to Philip Asher (Marketing Director and Designer), a.k.a. pmasher. While the co-op mode of DD2 is still mostly under wraps, Philip was able to give me some details on it which I’ll gladly share with you guys. Let’s first talk a bit about the competitive mode that I played.

We’ve seen the rise of cooperative concepts in video games in recent years, and there is a similar pattern in board and card gaming. Today, we’ll consider one of the most popular board games released last year, the highly thematic and gorgeously produced Zombicide.
