Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is going to receive a major update this week on January 14th, as the "mid-season update" goes live with the game across all platforms. While most of the changes are focused on the game's PvP modes with new maps, weapons, and playlists there is some good stuff for co-op fans.
We missed updating folks back in November when A Total War Saga: TROY got a major update that included the ability to play the game's campaign in two player co-op on top of co-op skirmishes. That feature, when launched, was considered beta and not completely finished. As to be expected folks encountered numerous issues.
Outriders, the three player co-op shooter/RPG from studio People Can Fly has been delayed until April 1st, a reported by the game's official twitter account. All is not lost though as instead on the original release date we will get a full demo.

We can remember the old days when December was THE time to go through our backlog. No new releases to hog our attention - just tons of games to finally play during the school break. Thanks to the digital revolution with no need to have an open retail store this has obviously changed. There were even new co-op releases on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! All in all our database saw an increase of 130 new entries this month - including all titles from the Space Invaders-Franchise offering co-op modes. So what are you waiting for? It's been over a year since Gears 5 launched, and the Co-Opticrew is finally getting back to it. Nick just wrapped up the campaign and will be heading into the new Hivebusters DLC that just launched, and the whole team decided to dive into the Escape mode, the new 3 player co-op scenario in the game.
The next game in the Earth Defense Force series is going to be a little different. Called Earth Defense Force: World Brothers the game makes uses of voxels instead of polygons to convey its destructive nature. While the game was always over the top, the new style gives it a slightly more kid friendly feel but still B-Movie all the same. The game isn't a change in direction for the series, it's merely a spin-off.
The original Door Kickers was great tactical title that reminded me of the original Rainbow Six's planning mode with overhead execution. It wasn't until late in its life that the game got a patch to include co-op play. Now, learning from that experience, developer KillHouse Games have created a proper sequel with co-op in mind from day one with Door Kickers 2: Task Force North.
With Endless Dungeon just announced, and Human Kind on my brain, we thought it might be a good timed to revisit the classic Amplitude Studio's roguelike Dungeon of the Endless. Released in 2014 the game puts players in the shoes of various characters in a tactical strategy game about saving their crashed shipped.
Good news PlayStation 4 and 5 owners - Sackboy: A Big Adventure has been patched and now has an online co-op mode available. The PS5 launched title launched with couch co-op only.
Developer Flying Wild Hog really burst into the action scene with their shooter Hard Reset back in 2016. After the co-op friendly Shadow Warrior 2, they began working on a single player only sequel. Apparently though they've also been working on a new game set in the old West that's not quite as grounded as say...Red Dead Redemption. Enter the Evil West.
The last time we checked in with Marvel's Avengers was over three months ago. At that time the game had only just launched and it was loaded with bugs, glitches, and frankly was almost unplayable in co-op. Recently the game got its first character DLC with Kate Bishop, released for free for all players. So we decided to dive back in.
