Dungeon Defenders and the Sonic Collection is now free for PlayStation Plus subscribers

PS Plus Members Get to Turn Tail and Defend Dungeons for Free

The PlayStation Plus scheme is great for anyone looking to boost their games collection as every few weeks Sony throws out some top titles for the grand sum of zero Pounds/Dollars/Euros/Venusian-space-dimes.  The latest co-op experiences to get the 100% off treatment are Dungeon Defenders and The Sonic Collection; they come as part of a new wave of free games.

Halo 4 Spartan Ops Episode 3 Co-Op Walkthrough

Episode 3 of 10 is now available to download of Halo 4's Spartan Ops co-op campaign.  The story sees Dr. Halsey returning to the mix, this time helping the team aboard the Infinity discover exactly what the artifact is.  Episode 3 is much improved over the previous episode, which saw many maps recycled and combat feeling pretty stale.  This time around there's plenty of vehicle missions alongside some new maps, including a few familiar from the game's competitive multiplayer.

How much baddass is too much badass?

Borderlands 2: Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage Out Today, Explosive Launch Trailer

Ok. We get it. Borderlands 2 is a badass game. It's got badass guns, badass enemies, badass characters, and even a Badass Rank (which spontaneously resets itself from time to time). I love me some Borderlands 2, but I think I'm over all the badass stuff. It's kind of played. Just look at this AMA Gearbox writer Anthony Burch did for Reddit yesterday (in character as Mr. Torgue). It's kind of fun while simultaneously being kind of dumb.  I like it, but I'm ashamed of myself for liking it. I guess that's the point.

The Co-Op Release Alert for the Week of 11.19.2012

The Wii U is out. It's interesting. The mini-games I played in NintendoLand were fun, but I'll need more time with the system before I take the plunge. All those games came out yesterday, which means they piggybacked on last week's Co-Op Release Alert. I highly recommend checking out our Co-Op Spotlight: Wii U Edition. It has a more comprehensive list of the co-op games for Nintendo's new system.

Co-Op International: Altered Beast

Disney's latest animated feature Wreck-It Ralph is chock full of videogame references, some more obscure than others. For instance, the final boss of Altered Beast makes a brief cameo in his rhino form. That gives us the perfect excuse to look at an obscure Japanese port of the game in our latest installment of Co-Op International. This month we look at Altered Beast (called Juuoki in Japan) for the PC Engine, an 8-bit system known as the Turbografx-16 in the west.
