Microsoft's Games on Demand service is infamous for its non-competitive prices. They often cost much more than current retail prices and seldom even go on sale. That makes this week's Games on Demand sale pretty special. Most of the sale games are pretty old, but their prices have been slashed down to just five bucks in most cases. Plus, the sale includes plenty of co-op offerings. I'm talking about Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, Perfect Dark Zero, Tornado Outbreak, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Kameo, all super cheap this week.
RAGE came out in October of last year and since then, we haven't heard much about the game. Reviews were across the board, the versus multiplayer was forgetful, and the co-op mode was average at best. But new rumors suggest the game might be getting a life injection in the form of some new co-op DLC. Siliconera reports a new ratings submission to PEGI could have revealed some new content...or a new game.
At the start of the year, the A World of Keflings community was given the choice of what DLC they would like to see; swashbuckling pirates, grisly undead, or tooth achingly sweet candy land. Being the type of manly community that has to shave 4 times a day, they of course picked - Candy. New images have now been released for this DLC pack in all its pink glory.
Phantom Breaker, the anime-style one-on-one fighting game from 5pb (makers of co-op import Bullet Soul) is due for a western release this fall. It seems 5pb likes all kinds of fighters, as the follow-up game Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds will be a side-scrolling beat-em-up. Such games usually benefit from 2-player co-op, but Battle Grounds goes above and beyond the call of duty with both online and offline 4-player co-op. A Battle Royale versus mode will round out the multiplayer offerings. Not too shabby!
A new video of Just Dance 4 was released on Youtube not too long ago, sadly disappointing us by its lack of gameplay details with neon-dancer filler.
Recently, Trendy Entertainment has announced its cancellation of Dungeon Defenders for the PlayStation Vita. While we are slightly disappointed by this, Trendy does have other plans already in the works that involve cross-platform gaming.
Terrible news, everyone. Anarchy Reigns, Sega's 16 player brawl-a-rama, has been pushed to 2013. At least two Co-Optimus staff members have gone from "bummed" to "distraught." The worst thing is developer Platinum Games says the game is "finished, localized, and ready to go." Sega has other plans:

Right before the madness that was E3 fell upon us, Larian Studios, a developer best known for the Divinity series of RPG games, made an announcement about the next entry in the series: Divinity: Original Sin. Set once more in the mythical world of Rivellon, Original Sin is Larian Studios' attempt to "get back to their roots" after the hack-n-slash, actiony Divinity II: Ego Draconis. The return to their roots also includes a return to cooperative gameplay, a very wise decision in our view point. Game Informer was able to get a preview of the game before it was demoed at E3 and based on the brief 4-minute they shot, I'm getting excited to see where this title will go. Elements of Diablo, Magicka, and Star Wars The Old Republic's dialogue system all show up, along with a turn-based battle system that reminds me of the more classic RPGs like Final Fantasy VI. If that doesn't pique your RPG-loving curiosity, then maybe you should get that looked at...
