Special deal for our faithful Co-Optimus readers

New MMO Action RPG Guardians of Ember Coming to Early Access

Developer Runewaker has their sights set on their next MMORPG title: Guadians of Ember. Our Weekend In Gaming: One Unstoppable Attorney

At long last, the Co-opticrew has another chance to relax and reflect on what seems to have been quite the busy week.  More and more, the staff here is returning to its local gaming roots, indicating our growing desire for face-to-face interaction.  Through couch co-op, board games, and roleplaying games, we've trended back towards the chance to sit down with a few friends, chat about nothing in particular, and work towards a common goal.  Perhaps that will change in the future (especially once VR co-op becomes more commonplace), but for now, we're mostly content to sip on our beverages of choice and talk smack about the lines of code that oppose us.

Locke and I decided to spend a little time with the "Brutal Edition" of the game to see how it fares.

Will you be able to watch tanks blow up in slow motion?

Battlezone on PSVR Will Have Four Player Online Co-Op

When they're not figuring out how to make sniper bullets move in the slowest of motions and cause the worst kind of damage to some people, UK developer Rebellion has been working on a modern take of the '80s arcade title Battlezone. The game is slated for release next month on the PlayStation 4 (a PlayStation VR headset is required to play) and it was revealed today that it will support four player online co-op when it launches.
