Good news, combo co-op fans! Sony's exclusive third-person space shooter, Starhawk will support split screen and online play! Co-Optimus community member, Kevin Clough, recently posited this question on a PlaystationBlog article concerning the nature of local and online co-op:
The Nintendo 3DS has been around for a while now, which means it has little excuse for having so few co-op games. Square Enix are planning to rectify this misdemeanour when it releases Heroes of Ruin on the 31st March. The game is an action RPG with 4 player drop in/drop out co-op. Previously Co-Optimus has given you a taste of how Ruin's co-op works, now have a glimpse at the story in this new trailer.
Ninja Gaiden 3 has just slashed its way to stores, killing dozens of innocent bystanders in the process. Shocking, right? Imaginary deaths aside, the good news is Tecmo has non-imaginary plans to release free DLC for the game soon after launch. No specific date has been set, but we do know what this DLC includes: two weapons and two multiplayer stages. Good things come in pairs, you know.
Nobody can say Gears of War 3 doesn't have staying power. Not only is it massive to begin with, but Epic keeps pushing out downloadable content and title updates. In fact, the fourth and latest title update has just appeared, a week ahead of the 'Forces of Nature' DLC (pictured). It contains a number of minor tweaks and bug fixes, all of which should make the multiplayer experience more enjoyable.
Kinect Rush: A Disney Pixar Adventure has been so off my radar, it might as well have been in stealth mode. If you're anything like me you usually stop reading about a game as soon as you get to the word "Disney." Heck, a lot of you stop reading when you see the word "Kinect." All we need now are some aliens and we'll have the quadrilateral base of the perfect gaming Pyramid of Villainy. Cap it all off with some Nazis and we'll have ourselves a party! The two player co-op game has players jumping into the red shoes of Sonic or the white kicks of Tails as they race through some beautiful looking enviornments to defeat Dr. Robotnik. The 2012 Formula One season may have only just begun, but Codemasters are already on the fast track with an announcement that F1 2012 will be in shops for September 2012. The previous iteration's co-op mode had more bugs than Mr Liceman the most lice ridden man in Liceington. However, after patching the game F1 2011 co-op finally became playable and hopefully Codemasters have learnt their lesson. To sweeten the deal 2012 promises more co-op than ever.

For this month's Co-Optimus Community Voice, we asked the community if they're ready for the next generation of consoles. So far, the answer has been a unanimous "heck no."
