As the Playstation Vita draws nearer to launch, developers continue to announce new and exciting games for it. A title that really peaks my own interest is Samurai & Dragons, a combination action-RPG and city building simulator. If that wasn’t a promising enough description already, it will also pack four-player co-op support. Is it okay to get excited now?

The Dark Souls 1.05 patch has finally come stateside.  It rolled out in Japan a little over a month ago, and it began showing up on North American consoles shortly thereafter.  This new patch includes a host of features and fixes, but the most important one for me, and many other players, is an improvement on the multiplayer summoning system.  If you've been following the whole Dark Souls co-op ordeal, you know what I'm talking about.  Previously, I openly doubted whether any real solution would ever be enabled.  After hours of post-patch testing, I'm happy, nay, delighted to report that the multiplayer portion of the game has been fixed.

Total War: Shogun 2 is a pretty amazing strategy game, combining turn-based planning and diplomacy with amazingly huge-scale real-time strategy battles. It also features a great co-op campaign for two players. There is much more co-op strategic warfare awesomeness to come, as Sega has announced Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai, a full standalone expansion pack.

Want to see what the three player co-op Trine 2 looks like in 3D but don't have the game or 3D hardware required to do so?  NVidia has you covered with an entire gallery of 3D shots of the game viewable with simple Red/Blue glasses amongst other methods.  If you've played Trine or the Trine 2 beta you know the game is ripe for 3D support, with a rich multi-layered world that is full of colors it simply comes to life in 3D.

If there's one controversial topic over the past few years of games, its DRM and the methods employed to try to get customers to buy new copies of games.  Whether it's having an always on internet connection or requiring customers to enter one time use codes to access functionality -  DRM has come to the forefront of both console and PC gaming. 

By now many of you would have completed the Gears of War 3 campaign and it was pretty awesome. Perhaps some of you joined the Co-Optimus team on their recent 4 player jaunt through the game on Insane Arcade mode (this mode is also excellent and feels like a different gaming experience.) One of Nintendo and videogame's greatest and most influental developers is taking a step back.  Shiguero Miyamoto, creator of Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda has decided to retire from his current position within Nintendo as a lead producer and developer on major projects like the recent Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.  Instead the 59 year old wants to work on smaller projects.
