The original Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! is a solid beat 'em up featuring an appealing art style that closely matches that of the European Asterix comics. Given the positive fan reaction, it's no surprise that Microids and developer Mr. Nutz Studio quickly set out to work on a sequel. Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! 2 is now set to arrive on consoles and PC on November 13, a date that falls in line with the release target promised back in June.

Before eventually going out of business, Data East released numerous arcade games across a variety of genres. While many of their games are lesser known, various collections, re-releases, and remakes continue to trickle out. Joe & Mac, for instance, has already seen a remake in the form of New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja from Microids. Now Forever Entertainment (makers of The House of the Dead: Remake) is throwing their hat into the ring with Night Slashers: Remake, an HD version of Data East's cult classic beat 'em up.

Although roguelikes have become quite popular in recent years, you don't see many first-person shooter roguelikes (other than Gunfire Reborn). The genre will soon have a new entry, though, in the form of Roboquest from RyseUp Studios and Starbreeze Publishing. After a period of Steam Early Access, Roboquest will fully launch on Xbox, Steam, and Epic in early November.

Ninja Kidz is a popular YouTube video series starring martial artist kids who can't act as they get into all kinds of adventures. The "kidz" are so popular, in fact, that they've been given a low-budget beat 'em up for consoles and PC. NINJA KIDZ: TIME MASTERS sends the "kidz" back into the past in a mission to rescue their grandmasters from the forces of evil. It supports 4-player local co-op, so parents and children can join in the martial arts fun.

It's a great week for platformers. Not only has Sonic Superstars just come out on all platforms, but Nintendo has now released Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the Switch. Wonder is the first 2.5D Mario game released without the word "New" in the title, a move meant to show that this is more of a mainline Mario game than a spinoff. It still supports 4-player local co-op, however, so there's plenty of family-friendly fun to be had.

Back in June, Sega announced that Sonic Superstars would be the first Sonic the Hedgehog game with 4-player co-op. Now the game is finally here, and up to four local players can team up and go on a 2.5D platforming adventure as Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Amy. We're always excited for a new Sonic game, but the co-op support makes this one so much more exciting.

October is a traditionally scary month, full of all manner of haunts and frights. There's no need for Steam and Switch gamers to be afraid of ghosts (or is that "no ghosts"?) now, thankfully, because Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has finally arrived on both platforms! The PC version was previously Epic exclusive, and poor Switch was just completely haunted until now. Both of the new versions support full cross-play with the existing Xbox, PlayStation, and Epic games, thankfully.

Although Limited Run didn't do much to promote it, Deathwish Enforcers became a sleeper hit when it appeared on PlayStation and Switch earlier this year. Now that game's developer, Monster Bath Games, has a follow-up title in the works for Switch and Steam called GuardGrave. With a spooky theme, gorgeous 2D pixel art, and 2-player local co-op, this one should be good fun for retro gamers when it arrives later this fall.
