Rush Some Scores in Score Rush

We enjoy us some indie games here at Co-optimus. I've had myself some good times with co-op games I've purchased on the Xbox Live Indie Games (XBLIG) channel. Today Xona Games launched Score Rush on said channel, a game described as "an intense 2D, four-player, dual-stick, bullet-hell, score-running shooter." Features include unlockable difficulty modes, boss battles, and power-ups for both your main weapon and your ship. The goal? To get a crazy-high score, of course!

Xbox LIVE Arcade Games for the Holidays Trailer Showcases Co-Op Games

Looks like some co-operative wishes will be fulfilled this holiday season.  Microsoft is showing off some new co-op games in a a trailer for Xbox Live Arcade Games.  A World of Keflings, the sequel to A Kingdom for Keflings, and ilomilo, a unique 3D puzzler, have co-op play.  Raskulls may look co-op, but it is actually a competitive racing platformer.  What's interesting is the character crossover between games.  You can dress as, or play as, other characters in each game.  All three games have their own distinct art style, so the different iterations of each character are intriguing.  You can demo ilomilo now, but you will have to wait until December 22nd to get your hands on the others.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Officially Revealed

Naughty Dog have taken the wraps off the sequel to Uncharted 2, and despite the rumors, its not subtitled World of Deceit.  Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is likely  to launch next year exclusively on the PlayStation 3, this time the story follows Drake as he searches for a legendary lost city on the Arabian peninsula.  It looks like the rumors were correct - there's going to be some sand in your shorts as deserts play a big role in the setting of the game.

Trine 2 is still a few months away.  We've brought you screens and video from E3, and the fantastic news of the game's multiplatform releaseGamereactor.eu has some new screens to make the wait a little less painful.  The first Trine was both a commercial and critical success.  It originated on PC and made it to the PSN.  Unfortunately, it's Xbox LIVE production came to a halt.  Luckily, the sequel will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in 2011.  Also, the game will feature online co-op, which was absent from the first.

Total War Series to be on Consoles, iPad, and Facebook in the Future?

The Total War series has been in the business of combining turn-based strategy and real-time strategy action for over ten years. A recent addition to the series has been full campaign co-op (found in Napoleon Total War and the upcoming Shogun 2: Total War), a phrase we here at Co-optimus find truly delectable. Many of our readers, however, may be missing out on this series as it been almost entirely exclusive to the PC. For those of you who enjoy strategy games but aren't into PC gaming, hope may be on the horizon. Developer Creative Assembly says they are not opposed to the idea of bringing Total War to consoles, iPad, and/or Facebook.
