Happy 10th Birthday Xbox! What's Your Favorite Co-Op Game?

Ten years ago today Microsoft changed the console war from a battle between two, to a battle between three.  The Xbox, a big black box loaded with a "duke" controller became a staple of hardcore gamers.  It contained a hard drive and a network connection, and it was the beginning of a big change for consoles.  The system saw many great co-op games over it's life span, though none may be more iconic than the one it launched with in Halo.

The world is at war, better bring a gun.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Co-Op Review

It’s without a doubt that the biggest selling and most popular franchise of this generation is the Call of Duty franchise, more specifically, the Modern Warfare iterations of it. Now onto the third and final chapter that tells the story of the world’s battle against a psychopathic Russian terrorist named Markov, Modern Warfare 3 is bigger and better than ever.

Join the Halo Living Monument as Xbox and Halo Turn 10

It's hard to believe that 10 years ago today, Microsoft launched the Xbox console.  At the time I was a college student and I remember thinking - there's no way Microsoft can compete with Sony or Nintendo.  Yet, there I was on launch day with my college roomate picking up the big black and green box with a copy of Halo.  That weekend we spent the entire time playing through the game in co-op.

Black Friday is a sales holiday that occurs the day after Thanksgiving each year in the US. This year’s takes place on Friday, November 25. It’s a fantastic time to pick up additional consoles on the cheap so that you and a friend or significant other can play online and system link games in the same room. Seriously, you can get a new 4 GB Xbox 360 for as low as $140 this year! But for most people, Black Friday’s just a great time to pick up relatively new games on the cheap.

Cadenza Interactive Announces Retrovirus, Tech-Themed Co-Op Shooter

PC and XBox Live Indie Gamers may remember a little title a couple years back called Sol Survivor, a cooperative tower-defense game that helped to kick-off the Indie-Ana Co-Op feature. The studio responsible for that game's development, Cadenza Interactive, has announced today that they are releasing their second title. Retrovirus, a "six degrees of freedom" shooter, will include an entirely cooperative campaign mode in addition to a few other multiplayer modes that, we can only hope, will also be cooperative in nature. Full details can be found after the bump.
