Cookie Monster is So Over Zombies

Tim Schafer has got a game to pitch.  You may have heard of this game before.  It's got zombies, and it's going to be awesome!  Oh noes!  Not zombies!  They've been done to death! GET IT??? Cookie Monster is having none of it.  Check out this cutesy video during your down time from the nigh criminally violent video games you've been playing all week.

Dead Island's Bloodbath Arena DLC Coming Soon

It's been a hell of a week for Dead Island.  After disastrous launch issues on Steam, reports of rampant bug infestation, and an individual developer's offensive joke, Dead Island is still doing remarkably well. (At least, that's my deduction, if my Friends List and Twitter have anything to say about it.)  We were able to look past these minor flaws (we played the Xbox 360 version) and gave Dead Island a perfect co-op score.  The game is simply amazing, and it's about to get a whole lot amazing-er.  The Bloodbath Arena DLC is scheduled to go live by the end of the month.

A Leedmees Launch Trailer to Brighten Your Day

With all the awesome launch games focusing on death and destruction this week, it was easy for me to miss a nice family friendly co-op title on the XBLA.  I should have caught it in our Co-Op Release Alert for the week, but sometimes I'm blinded by bloodlust.  Leedmees is a new, full body puzzle game which uses the Kinect sensor.  It also relies on your complete willingness to make a fool of yourself, which I have.  After the break we have a pleasant trailer featuring a nice, culturally diverse group of people enjoying the game.  Check it out, but don't listen to the music for too long, or you'll suffocate on all the kittens you puke up.

Fruit Ninja Kinect - Storm Season and Space Capsule DLC Pack Impressions

Shortly after Fruit Ninja Kinect launched on August 10, it received a DLC Pack called “Storm Season.” Just yesterday, “Storm Season” was followed up by another pack, “Space Capsule.” Each Pack costs 160 Microsoft Points and adds a new weapon, shadow, background, and Achievements. We’ve put them through their paces and survived to tell the tale, though a great many fruits weren’t so lucky.

Dead Island iPhone App Helps You Find Things, PC Patch Save Work Around

If you are playing the PC version of Dead Island, the patch that was recently released for the game has a nasty side effect - it makes your saved games unplayable.  Deep Silver said they tried every avenue to avoid this, but it simply wasn't possible.  Instead there is a small work around available.  While you won't get your weapons and items - you can retain your story progress.

RAGE System Requirements Revealed, First Co-Op Trailer

The system requirements for RAGE on the PC have been revealed and they are surprisingly tame for a game developed by id, a company historically known for pushing graphics technology to its limits.  Perhaps though it shouldn't come as a total surprise for anyone who has seen the game running beautifully and silky smooth on a console.  John Carmack certainly knows how to create 3D engines.
