A sleek update to an old favorite

Blue Yeti X Review

While there are no shortage of quality headsets and microphones to use while gaming these days, it can be a daunting task to jump from the "general gamer" to "aspiring streamer"; or in my case to "I have to professionally represent a website and sound somewhat respectable". There are quite a few products on the market ...

Save Geodia with... "assistive co-op"... oh...

Sparklite Now Available on Consoles and PC

Red Blue Games' Sparklite is now available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC. The game is touted as an action-adventure title with rogue-lite elements, which are all fairly accurate descriptors based on my time with it thus far. Two player couch co-op is supported in the game, but it's worth noting that the second player is (literally) relegated to a "helper bot" role.

Our Weekend In Gaming: Gray Friday

Get ready, folks, cause Black Friday is a mere fourteen days away.  Just hours after you've successfully (or unsuccessfully) navigated the sea of Turkey Day conversation and avoided all the most dangerous political whirlpools, you'll be thrust directly into the meat grinder also known as Capitalism's Big Day.  It's probably best to start preparing now, lest you fall prey to the incessant onslaught of deals.

Halo: Reach Will Be Added to Master Chief Collection on December 3

Back in March, we reported that Halo: Reach would be added to the Halo: The Master Chief Collection sometime this year. With just a few weeks left, 343 Industries is fulfilling that promise and Halo: Reach will arrive on the PC and Xbox One on December 3, 2019. On the PC side, this marks the first Master Chief Collection title to arrive on that platform, with the other games in that bundle arriving over the course of the next year.

"Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" was a cautionary tale

[XO19] - Get Smol and Survive in Grounded

The other co-op game that was announced/revealed during Microsoft's XO19 was a bit of a surprise, considering the developer. Obsidian, who just released the popular The Outer Worlds RPG, is shifting gears a bit with their next title, Grounded - a game where you have to survive in a backyard after being shrunk to the size of an ant. I mean, I guess every other iteration of a survival game has been done at this point?

Help those friendly plants by beating up those not friendly plants

[XO19] - Build a Village and Defend It With Friends in Drake Hollow

Microsoft's XO19 - "A global celebration of all things Xbox" - kicked off earlier this morning in London and there were a number of new games shown off, including a couple new co-op titles and at least one that could be. The first of these was Drake Hollow, an "action village building" title from The Flame in the Flood developer The Molasses Flood. Details are still sparse, but the announcement trailer shows you befriending some plant creatures, building a village, and then defending it from evil plant creatures.

An eternal apocalypse? Yeah, I think I can relate...

In Casy You Missed It: Rune II Now Available [UPDATED]

Human Head Studios' action-RPG, Rune II, launched on the Epic Games Store yesterday, so you and some buddies can create your own Scandinavian and set out to stop Loki from resetting the apocalypse. Yeah, I know, it's a bit weird. Apparently Loki decided that rather than just let the world blow up, he'd let it be really terrible for a while and then start it up again instead of letting it just end.

Upgrade Your Dragons in Bubble Bobble 4 Friends

Bubble Bobble 4 Friends, the sequel to the 1986 arcade hit Bubble Bobble, is arriving soon (Nov. 19) on the Nintendo Switch for all our co-op friends in Europe. Those of us in the States need to wait just a little bit longer until we can get our hands on it, but for everyone, ININ Games and Taito have released some new information about the game, along with a new trailer and a website that breaks down the history of the series.

Developer Changes Stance On Free DLC Amid Financial Hardships

PAYDAY 2 To Continue With Paid DLC And Some Free Content

In a quick but drastic shift, Starbreeze has declared it will continue development on 2013’s PAYDAY 2 through both free and paid content, which is in direct contrast to their previous ideology of winding down support for the title and providing any future content for free as part of their “Ultimate Edition” of the game.

Ghost Recon To Receive Support And Repairs

Ubisoft Lays Out Roadmap For Ghost Recon Breakpoint Content And Updates

The Ghost Recon series goes back to 2001, but due to lackluster sales of the most recent entry in the series, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft has been prompted to reevaluate their development and support for the series. While the previous entry, 2017’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, currently holds a score of 79 on Metacritic and received critical praise, Ubisoft may have been a bit too eager to put out a sequel to a “live” game that was receiving new content into this current year. Yves Guillemot, CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft, even highlighted this in a recent financial update to investors.. In response to the lackluster review and sale combination, Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon development team issued a lengthy statement laying out the new support plan.

Underperforming 2019 Games Lead To Delays

Rainbow Six Quarantine and Watch Dogs Legion Delayed To 2020-2021

In a recent financial discussion, Ubisoft announced that their 2019 titles - The Division 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint - both underperformed. As a result, Ubisoft is reevaluating the development time needed for their upcoming games, Rainbow Six Quarantine and Watch_Dogs Legion. Unfortunately, this means both titles will be delayed to Fiscal Year “2020-21.”
