E3 2011 - Warhammer 40,000: Killteam Hands-On Impressions

As a twin stick shooter fan and as a Warhammer 40K fan, it's hard not to be excited for the upcoming game Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team. Combining these two things players are put in control of one of four different characters Sternguard Veteran, Techmarine, Vanguard Veteran and Librarian. The classes all have base starting points and their own unique special attacks.

Must See - Ghost Recon: Future Soldier E3 Demos

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier plays faster than the previous Ghost Recon games. You need to know this before we go any further. In fact, when you watch the videos below you'll notice a striking similarity to Splinter Cell: Conviction, both in aesthetic and in gameplay. This may be a little premature to say without getting some hands-on time with it, but: it seems safe to assume that if you liked Conviction you'd be right at home with Future Soldier.

E3 2011 - Battlefield 3 Hands on Impressions

E3 2011 has brought us some goodies from DICE's upcoming Battlefield 3.  The single player, co-op and versus game was in full effect at the show, with a video unveiling of "Operation Thunder" at EA's press conference.  We've posted that video below - and yes - that's what it looks like in game.  The video follows a tank column on an assault of an enemy compound when they are suddenly intercepted by an enemy tank formation.  Things go boom.

BloodRayne: Betrayal Eyes-On at E3 2011

Bad news everyone!  BloodRayne: Betrayal is a single-player only affair.  We had speculated on a possible co-op mode due to some interesting allusions on the BloodRayne: Betrayal website.  There is some good news for you BloodRayne fans; the game looks great.  Designer/Director Sean Velasco played through some of the game for us.  The game had a fluidity to it that's hard to describe.  Velasco claimed that WayForward has lovingly crafted 4000 frames of animation for the sultry Dhampir.  I can't count that high while watching a demo, but I'll take his word for it.

E3 2011 - Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure Hands on Impressions

Every year I loved to be surprised by games I had absolutely no interest in before E3.  My game for day one of E3 was Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure.  To call it a game though, is a bit of an understatement, in reality Skylanders is a new product line from Activision that melds the character  collection of Pokemon with an action adventure game and versus battle brawler all rolled into one.  Oh, did I mention there's real figures to collect that save your character data and transmit it between platforms like the Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii?

Crimson Alliance Hands-On at E3 2011

Today, I attended my first honest to goodness E3 hands-on appointment.  The lucky winner was developer Certain Affinity, makers of Crimson Alliance, yet another hack and slash action RPG.  What separates Crimson Alliance from the glut of recently released dungeon crawlers?  How about fast-paced action, a streamlined inventory, and most importantly, co-op done right.  You can play Crimson Alliance with four players online, four players locally, or any combination you wish.  And best of all, your character save data stays with your Xbox Live Gamertag.

SteelSeries Announces Diablo III Peripheral Products

When we think of E3, we often think of game and hardware updates and reveals, but hey, you need accessories to go with said games and hardware. This week at E3, SteelSeries announced their partnership with Blizzard Entertainment in co-marketing a family of Diablo III peripherals. This line consists of a SteelSeries Diablo III Mouse, Headset, and two mousepads with artwork of the Barbarian or Witch Doctor.

Nintendo Announces New Console: Wii U, Coming 2012

As expected, Nintendo announced their long-rumored sequel to the Wii today.  The new console, dubbed the Wii U, will be released sometime next year.  The Wii U will output at 1080p in HD, which means you will no longer be embarassed at all those jaggies on your fancy big screen TV.  The Wii U will be backwards compatible with Wii games and controllers; backwards compatibility is something Nintendo always gets right.
