Bulletstorm DLC Now Available on PC

Bulletstorm's Gun Sonata DLC has finally rained down upon the PC.  The new content has two new Echo levels, "Guns of Stygia" and "Crash Site." There are three new stages for the game's four player Anarchy Mode, "Villa," "Sewers of Stygia," and  "Hotel Elysium."  This DLC was available on consoles a little over a month ago, and we posted our impressions of the entire Gun Sonata pack here.  We liked the DLC, and thought fans of the game would appreciate it, but it wouldn't interest gamers who had moved on to other titles.  You can download the Gun Sonata DLC on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or PC for $9.99.

Anarchy Reigns Delayed, 7 Videos and 9 Pics to Comfort Us

Game delays are never fun to read about.  Sega's online brawler, Anarchy Reigns, has in fact, been delayed until January of 2012.  To soften the blow we've added a huge amount of videos and screenshots to this post. The videos feature six character profiles, and a trailer called "Fight to the Death," which features some interesting environmental hazards.  We posted a ton of videos for this game a few weeks ago, and if you missed out you can still see them here.  One video featured Jack from the ultra-violent Wii title, Mad World. He's back in Anarchy Reigns, and it seems he has brought some psychotic friends with him.  Another video from that post featured a co-op survival mode with three players.  We don't know much about the co-op yet, but we'll let you in on all the details when they become available.

Gears of War Board Game Brings Co-Op to Your Tabletop

The past few years have brought video gamers an explosion of co-op.  This trend is echoed in the board game world, with many solid cooperative games being released, several of which we've covered here at Co-Optimus.  Later this year, one of the premiere co-op franchises is coming to a tabletop near you.  Gears of War The Board Game allows one to four players to team up against the Locust horde.  From what we can tell, it looks very similar to the system used in Castle Ravenloft, with a modular board, enemy AI cards, and lots of intricate miniatures.  The game is being produced by Fantasy Flight Games, a company that is well regarded in board game circles.  MSRP is a hair under $80, and games last between 1 and 3 hours.  It's nice to know that we have two great games in the Gears franchise to look forward to this year!

News Flash: Gears of War 3 Popular, Sets Xbox 360 Record for Pre-Orders

The Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta came to an end on Sunday.  The sudden stoppage of shotgun pwnage left Gears fans with a long summer wait for the early autumn retail release.  I, myself, was disenchanted with the beta, (I'm extraordinarily bad at Gears multiplayer, like, patheti-sad) but many, many gamers were not.  1.29 million players joined the beta.  Epic and Microsoft also announced that there have been over 1 million pre-orders for Gears of War 3, "making it the fastest pre-ordered Xbox exclusive title to reach this milestone in the history of the platform."  This may have to do with the fact that pre-ordering Gears of War 3 was one of the few ways to access the multiplayer beta.  Xbox LIVE's Major Nelson has all the stats you could ask for:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Details Leak, YouTube Videos Confirm Locations

Kotaku has let the cat out of the bag on Modern Warfare 3 - and in this case - the cat is wielding an M16A4 with red dot attachment...and it's shooting puppies.  What Kotaku has on their hands, and what they decided to leak and print for the world, is the rumored entire plot, characters, maps, weapons, and locations of Modern Warfare 3.  Most likely these details were leaked by former Infinity Ward employees that have since moved on - making the details and concept art well over a year old.  So as accurate as some of it is, according to Infinity Ward Communications Directory Robert Bowling - "some still accurate, some not. To avoid spoiling the experience, I'd wait for the real reveal."
