Amazon is running a sale today that gets you a PlayStation 3 Slim with 160GB hard drive for it's normal asking price of $299 - but to sweeten the deal they are throwing in $75 of video game credit on the system. This means you can pick it up great co-op games like Uncharted 2 and Resistance 2 with the system without a penny out of your pocket.
At least one person was excited to see the new Portal 2 trailer that was shown at last night's Spike TV Video Game Awards. The trailer unfortunately does not show any gameplay, but it does give us a nice glimpse into the personalities of the characters we'll be playing as.
Red Dead Redemption made a killing at the Spike TV Video Game Awards last night, bringing home the prizes for Best Original Score, Best DLC (Undead Nightmare), and Game of the Year. As insignificant as that may be to a lot of gamers, it sends a clear message to the industry: co-op is teh good. Awards won by Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops, DJ Hero 2, Rock Band 3, and a special mention of Portal 2 all served the same purpose. Co-op is loud; co-op is proud.
The NEOGEO system was quite popular in arcades in the 1990s. Though renowned for a slew of great fighting games like Samurai Showdown and King of Fighters, some excellent co-op titles were available on the platform as well. Later this month, NEOGEO Station is coming to the Playstation Network, bringing classic NEOGEO titles to your console or handheld.

The Wii has become an unlikely candidate for some interesting horror titles recently. Most notably Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, but none so interesting to the co-op community as Night of the Sacrifice. This mysterious title which has yet to officially be revealed via Famitsu magazine features the Wii balance board as means of control, and an unspecified "2-player" capability.
God Eater Burst hasn't exactly been the game on North American co-op gamers minds. After taking a look at some very Monster Hunter-esque gameplay, complete with 4 player local co-op or Ad-hoc online co-op - perhaps it should be. Some of the Co-Optimus staff have succumbed to the Cataclysm. World of Warcraft veteran Mike has sucked Marc and Nick into the "Skinner Box" with him. This could be bad, really really bad - at least - if we knew what a skinner box was. Good thing the rest of the staff has a sane head with Red Dead, Black Ops, and other AAA titles around. This week was a big week for owners of iPhones and iPod Touches. Not only did the truly excellent and jaw dropping Infinity Blade hit the device, but a sequel to an incredibly popular RPG was released - and it added online co-op play.
