Console fans have one less RTS game to stat-track.  Halo Wars is about to receive a fifth title update.  This update will do two things: 1) Fix some theatre issues, and 2) Prepare the game to be disconnected from halowars.com.  The forums are transitioning to Halo Waypoint, which means the Halo Wars forums will be taken "completely offline".  What does this mean to current players?  Well, it means that they can expect an exclusive avatar for the Halo Waypoint forums, and an end to their precious, precious stats.

Good news, PlayStation 3 owners.  Kingdom Under Fire II developer Blueside has confirmed that the Action/RTS game is coming to the PS3 at the same time as the Xbox 360 and PC versions.  The exact release date has been hard to pin down, mainly due to problems with Xbox LIVE's closed content policy.

When Crackdown 2 was originally announced to have an 8 player co-op survival mode, we were ecstatic.  When we found out the feature had been cut from the game...we were saddened.  But the mode has returned, though slightly different, and only supporting four players - it's called Deluge - and its the latest piece of DLC for Crackdown 2.

Like the mighty spear of Totec, the online co-op patch for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has been thrust into the PlayStation 3 version of the game.  This comes after the 360 version was patched with the same content plus some free DLC that is not available on the PS3.   Online co-op was a feature that was much desired by those that played Guardian of Light, but sadly was missing from the launch of the game.

Not long after the Xbox 360 release of Fable 3, we’re already being granted new DLC. This DLC pack covers a new area under the city of Bowerstone (called Understone), two new mini-games, and a whole slew of new weapons. We gave this DLC pack a go in (local) co-op and are here to share those impressions.

Could this be a teaser for Left 4 Dead 3?

A modder with too much time on his hands has lovingly created a Left 4 Dead Survival mode map that allows the Survivors to defend Helm's Deep - as seen in Peter Jackson's film The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

THQ plans to unveil a Saints Row movie fairly soon, most likely at next month's Spike TV VGA Awards.  

It seems everyone is hopping on the co-op bandwagon now a days.  Gamestop have launched a contest aimed at the co-op gamer for Bethesda's Hunted: The Demon's Forge, the two player co-op action/RPG launching on the 360, PS3, and PC early next year.  

Earlier this year, we brought you the news that the upcoming sequel to de Blob would include a rudimentary two player co-op mode.  Described as being similar to that of Super Mario Galaxy 2, the co-op allows a second player to control Pinky, who can only interact with the game in limited ways: slowing down enemies, disarming traps, that sort of thing.  Obviously that's not ideal, but it means de Blob 2 might be a great game to play with younger kids.

I'm pretty sure this is the biggest variety of games we've had on Our Weekend in Gaming.  Everything from Call of Duty to Assassin's Creed is on display.  Fable 3, Dead Rising 2, Lost Planet 2, and Enslaved?  Yeah we have that too.  Seriously there's just a ton of gaming planned for the weekend around Co-Optimus HQ.
