The Behemoth, the developers behind the superb Castle Crashers, announced that their latest game, Battle Block Theatre, will be delayed until 2011. They were originally hoping to have the game out this year, but " there’s a little more r&d than we thought and lots of new ground to break." This comes directly from Kelly Revak, who is Mayor of Behemoth Town. And when the Mayor of Behemoth Town speaks, you better listen.
Are we seeing Cat Helmet like liquidation already of the Halo Reach Legendary Edition? We won't know for sure, but if you ever wanted a gorgeous statue of the members of Noble Squad alongside the Limited Edition version of the game for $75 - today is your day. Halo Reach offers plenty of co-op and it won an Editor's Choice Award here on Co-Optimus.
The PC version of Fable 3 was originally supposed to launch alongside the 360 version - but was subsequently delayed. We were given a time frame of soon, that is, soon relative to the 360 release - but we're pretty sure the statute of limitations on that one have passed. Especially consider the 360 version is getting its first bit of DLC next week.
If you're a fan of cross-licensed LEGO games, then you'll be pleased to know that LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars has been officially announced, and will include the same two-player co-op that we've grown to expect in these types of addictive, casual platformers.
We've talked about Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood in the past on Co-Optimus, not because it contains co-op, but rather to clear up confusion that it DOESN'T contain co-op. All of the marketing material, videos, and information we had scene suggested cooperative play without actually saying it - after all - a brotherhood isn't so much a fellowship without other fellows.
The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of EA's NBA Jam are coming to store shelves on November 17th, but they will not include online support straight from the box. This will undoubtedly hurt sales, but EA has announced that they fully intend to patch in the online connectivity on launch day.
Fans of 80s anime or manga will remember the classic series Fist of the North Star. In a post-apocalyptic future, a ravaged populace fights over the limited resources available. The trademark gory hyper-violence makes this series a fine choice for a video game adaptation.
It wasn't all that long ago that I checked out a wonderful shooter title called Section 8 which was a lot of fun, but did not have a co-op mode at the time. It's nice to see that the developers thought the same thing I did - this game needs buddies. The sequel Section 8: Prejudice will have its own 4 player co-op mode to allow players to bring along a few friends. The developer blog has recently unveiled the "Swarm Mode" co-op mode.
PSN users have been as fond of their Hoard as dragons are fond of their treasures. As a community friendly group of people, the developers have been listening to your problems and are prepared to make a few tweaks for our gaming benefit. They say they want to create the strongest experience possible, and when you've got dragons involved - that's saying a lot.
It looks like we've been slacking on our Wii research, as a beautiful version of a classic comes to light. Sonic Colors has shown its face recently, complete with two player co-op campaign that really looks like a world of colorful fun.
Over a year ago we brought you news of Spelunker HD, the umpteenth re-release or re-imaging of the original Spelunker. This game has been available in Japan for some time (over a year), so it's nice that it is finally making it stateside. If you do not know what the word 'spelunker' means, do yourself a favor and ask the most mature, kind-hearted person you can find. Do not ask me, for I am neither mature nor kind-hearted, and whatever you do, do not consult the Urban Dictionary, to which I have linked for some reason. Don't do it.
