Every fortnight (that's fourteen days, biweekly, or every two weeks for those who can only count on one hand), Nick Mike, Locke, and Jason bring you the latest in co-op news, witty banter and the occasional special guest. Download us to the device of your choice, hang on and enjoy the ride.
Got opinions? Want to send us questions? Obsessed with lists? We love to hear from you, so hit us up in any of the following ways:
In this week's edition of your favorite co-op centric podcast (that would be The Co-Opticast, ya?), Nick and Mike discuss the finer points of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance and Magicka: Vietnam, this week's co-op news, and froth with anticipation over the upcoming Portal 2. With guest appearances by my crying baby and my cats, it's one of the largest casts we've ever unintentionally assembled for an episode! Check it out!
It's a special episode of the Co-Opticast as Charles Husemann from GamingNexus.com joins the Co-Opticrew to discuss the latest co-op news, the latest gameplay impressions, and then dive into some deep discussion about the gaming industry! Wha? That's right - the crew tackles the topic of gaming conventions and whether or not there's just too damn many of them. Afterwards we tackle voice mail, upcoming releases, and lots more. Sit back, relax, crack open a beer and enjoy episode 62!
PAX East 2011 is over, but the fun is heating up at the Intercontinental Hotel in Boston, MA. Mike, Nick and Kat strip down to their skivvies and record a special edition of our podcast bringing you gameplay impressions straight from the show floor. We've got Guild Wars 2, Duke Nukem Forever, Firefall, and many many others on tap. So sit back, crack open a beer, and enjoy the show.
It's the week before PAX-East, so Mike & Nick chat about all sorts of things! Want some information about Brink? We've got that! Wanna hear more about Hunted: The Demon's Forge? We've got that too! Add in lots of talk about Bulletstorm, Hard Corps: Uprising and Killzone 3 as well as this week's co-op news, and you've got yourself another winning episode of The Co-Opticast.
After a week off the Co-Opticast is back. Mike and Nick were hard at work on site features, which just happens to be one of the topics of this podcast. But that's not all we discuss - co-op news, upcoming releases, HD remakes, and more. The meat of the show centers around backlogs of games, how you tackle them, and strategies for getting some co-op help. All that and more in Episode 59 of the Co-Opticast! Don't forget you can leave us a voicemail and tell us about your backlog or anything else that pique's your interest - (646) 926-6748
Its hard to believe we're living the future. 2011 - flying cars, robot servants, and space ice cream at every meal. We can dream, can't we? The latest episode of the Co-Opticast previews the upcoming games of 2011 while talking about the year's news so far. World of StarCraft, PlayStation 3 hacking, and much more are all in the latest installment of your favorite co-op gaming podcast.
It's been more than a month since we've brought you a Co-Opticast, and for that, I'm sure you are eternally thankful. In all seriousness, the holidays and diseases ravaged our illustrious hosts time and ability to bring you anything coherent. But we're back...and we're better than ever. After wrapping up the latest news and information, Nick and Mike talk the site's Game of the Year awards and give their take on the results. Hopefully we'll be back to our regularly scheduled bi-weekly casts now.
In a turn, some may say for the worse, Mike and Nick spend a good chunk of the podcast talking about World of Warcraft, specifically the Cataclysm expansion pack which releases today. Fret not Co-Optiheads! There's plenty of other PC and Console co-op news discussed including the latest info on co-op DLC, new co-op games, and much...much more.
Due to technical difficulties (Mike's computer crashing) this Co-Opticast represents a shift in our normal two week schedule and the second recording of Episode 55. That's ok though, it just means we practiced first to bring you a totally awesome podcast. On the plate is a beefy segment of gaming discussion, plenty of co-op gaming news, and opinions on Microsoft's Kinect.
The zombies are coming...the zombies are coming! The Co-Opticrew examine the many co-op zombies games of are past, present and future in the latest episode of the Co-Opticast. What else is on tap? Plenty of Co-Op News and Info as well as impressions of Fable 3, Fallout New Vegas and even some Kinect talk....shhhh. Mike and Nick also discuss the only concept of "digital goods." Yes, it's that kind of episode.
Apologies for the late episode this week, but the wild lifestyle of our intrepid podcast hosts waits for no one! Well, actually, we had a great interview lined up and we didn't want to make you wait another two weeks to hear it. After Nick and Mike cover this week's co-op news, Andy Schatz from Pocketwatch Games joins us to chat about his upcoming co-op game, Monaco. We were big fans of its PAX demo and think you should keep an eye on this one. Interview Begins at the 54:45 Mark if you want to skip to the good stuff. :D For more on Monaco visit: http://www.pocketwatchgames.com/Monaco/
Four hosts enter Co-Opticast 52, only two remain when the dust settles. That's what happens when the Co-Opticrew tries to do something special for the latest episode of the Co-Opticast. Celebrating its two year anniversary Mike, Jim, Kat and Nick host an entertaining and technically challenged episode where all things co-op are discussed. Halo Reach? Yup. Game Delays? Yup. Randy Pitchford lovin? Yup. Crying babies? Yup. It's got it all. Thanks for two great years - here's to two more!
This week, Mike and Nick scrutinize the latest indie title to cross our paths which is sure to be a sleeper hit: Halo Reach! There's an awful lot of Halo talk this time around, but there always is when a new title is released, considering its immediate predecessor was our (Staff) Co-Op Game of the Year for 2009. We briefly run down some news from TGS and express our sadness over the (apparent?) closure of GoG.com. All this, plus the week's news in this edition of The Co-Opticast!
50 Episodes. 50 friggin episodes. Can you believe it? After almost two years we finally hit Episode 50 of the show! Mike and Nick go all out this episode with a jam packed 100 minutes of co-op game coverage. Can you say Duke Nukem Forever, Halo Reach, PAX 2010, and tons of other goodies? Of course the crew has to give their 83 cents on the Xbox Live price increase. After the news and commentary we preview this fall's co-op games and give our take on what you should be spending your money on. That is, if you have any left over after the price increase.
It's an (almost) all-news episode, since Nick and Mike have to wrap up both Gamescom AND Quakecon, as well as discuss Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (yay) and Kane & Lynch 2 (not so yay). Those rascally Patapons make several guest appearances throughout the podcast. Mike also manages to screw up a news story about Brink preorder bonuses, but it's tough keeping track of such things while being attacked by adorable shadow tribesmen. Outro: Anamanaguchi - Blackout City
