8-Bit Armies Is Headed To Consoles This Fall

The co-op RTS made its initial debut on the PC in 2016, and once developer Petroglyph Games got all their post-launch items in order, they set to work on the console version. It'll be in our controller-laden hands on September 21st, and to tide folks over until then, the publisher supplied us with a brief announcement trailer.

We started off a little bit rocky as I believed I could just "Zerg rush" the opposing enemy force. After a quick re-group, we knocked out the first challenge mission through the strategic deployment of nukes.

As with many RTS games, much of the action 8-Bit Armies is focused on building up your base, cranking out units, and then marching them off to battle the opposing forces. While the 25 mission campaign is solo only, there are 10 specific co-op missions you can play with a friend. When you're done beating those you can see how well you fair against the A.I. for some good ole fashioned "comp stomp"-ing in the Skirmish mode, which supports up to eight players total (be they human or bot).
